Attaboy. I know he's probably a longshot to make it, but I'll be pulling for him. His play against Wake will forever be one of my favorite LSU sports moments.

I've been a huge fan from the first time I saw one of his magic acts at 1b.

The Wake play is etched in my memory forever.

And he always seemed to enjoy the game so much - easily my favorite Tiger.

Dugas and Crews getting their first HR and Tre being productive at the plate is a great start to their professional journey. Will be rooting for all of them! Keep it up Tre!

It seems like just yesterday he trotted out to first with his back pocket hanging out of his pants. Gonna miss his glove at that corner moving forward for sure.

I think Tres in the perfect organization to get him to the bigs. The rays don’t use typical prototypes at positions, I think Tre has a chance to make it to the league at 1B as long as he stays in Tampa

Because the odds are long for even the best players. And even the most prototypical guys. The against-type guys have an even steeper climb.

To say he's a longshot isn't a shot at him, it's just an assessment of the overall landscape.

1st base in the majors is usually reserved for your power hitters. Offensive production first, defense second

I think we may look back and realize that this team was even more talented than we gave them credit for which is amazing because we gave them a TON of credit in that department.

Who knew this year's team could hit the long ball, I'm definitely surprised.

He's a winner just like Crews and company.

Tre Morgan is playing in left field today. Currently 1 for 1 at the plate; avg. up to .556.

ETA:

1st inning single to right
3rd inning popped up to 3B
5th inning flied out to LF
7th inning grounded out to SS

Yep this drives me crazy. Hopefully organizations will realize the value of a wizard like Tre at first and break free from “that’s how we’ve always done it” thinking.

Mark Grace comes to mind as a 1B who did not "fit that mold".

16 yr career, 173 HRs in 2245 games. Good defense, career .303 hitter with more BBs (1075) than Ks (642).
