Morgan should have always been at first. That was the one move that drove me nuts. I get wanting the Jones bay but Morgan is a great fielding first baseman we are sacrificing for another bat. Too many plays run through first to sacrifice that.

what? Where is this “downturn” of the season. Morgan has been starting a minimum of 2 games per weekend in left since the second weekend of the season and tomorrow will be the first time we will have been ranked anything other than 1.

What about the defensive production, or lack thereof, at 3rd base... great bat, but poor glove!

Kling would be an improvement but Pearson isn’t that good in the OF.

And Jones isn’t that bad at 1st. He’s had some bad games but mostly hasn’t been an issue.

I’m down. It’s worth a few games to see. Tre has done a pretty good job on LF but he’s still learning how to read the ball off the bat. Pearson IS a better outfielder but hitting is just not there this year. Maybe not enough at bats.

It's also a calming presence to have a rock solid 1st basemen. No one in the infield is playing fantastic right now. Thompson has been pretty good. You move Tre back to 1st and everyone mentally resets and relaxes.
