Did anyone else notice a little tension between Travinski and Herring last night. There was one pitch last night that Herring made and it was really low and inside and bounced off toward the 3rd base dugout. Travinski gave him a pretty salty look and Yeskie immediately went out to the mound.

A little later in the inning he made the same kind of pitch and it was fould off. Travinski pointed at him and GLARED through Herring and gestured to him with his hand to calm down or slow down, but he looked pretty pissed. The only think I noticed before the pitch below is that Herring never looked at his watch for the pitch call and may have crossed Travinski up a couple of times.

Anybody else catch that?

I guess shaking off a pitch is hard when it’s on a wristwatch.

Rare that a college pitcher is allowed to shake

Herring is a pretty intense guy. Hayden is just getting him to check his emotions cause the inning is still going on.

Yea normally I would say the same. The gif that I posted wasnt too bad on its own, it was just that it was the second time that inning for an almost identical situation as the first. And the first one had Yeskie out with the quickness like he saw something that he didnt like at all.

Just seemed a little off.

# 8 is not only a team captain he's wearing #8 for a reason. If a stare bothers you, you don't belong on the mound in the SEC. I just see 2 highly intense competitors performing as they should.

Yeah, it was a cross up. I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often with such a high level of dependence the electronics.

If you watched him against wake last year alone, you definitely got this. He would strike a WF batter out to end an inning and almost look annoyed with the ump or that he had to do it at all

If you’ve ever been on a team at any level in sports this is literally nothing. Travinski didn’t want him to lose his cool and let Florida back in the game. Travinski is a 5th year senior and you need a guy like that on the team. Also, I guarantee you Herring respects the hell out of him

Plenty. From t-ball to college.

Yea, I know that.

Yea, I know that.

If you read my post, the main focus was to see if anyone else may have noticed what Broski mentioned and if Herring was “shaking” pitches or if something else was going on. He didn’t look at his watch before that pitch. Yeskie saw it too and if I’m not mistaken, it was one of the first 2 batters in the inning, so Florida wasn’t threatening. It wasn’t a, “Hey, let’s take a breath, trust your stuff and get out of this trouble” visit.

I’m not a fricking idiot, I know Herring and Travinski don’t have any animosity and respect each other. I know it was “literally nothing” in that aspect.

It did not look like Trav was pissed. It looked like he was trying to settle down Herring and it wasn’t working, so he got a little animated about it. Similar to Saban telling his QB, “Settle the frick down.”
