At all the people in this thread not able to understand simple physics and chain of events.

wasn't him
ETA: My roommate was hospitalized for months. Never heard anything from the team etc. Come to think of it, that may be one of the reasons I soured on LSU football.

I cant give you more than I know. I expect him to be out for State as well considering he got about 20 something stitches above his eye/forehead.
I know he was driving home from the bar and was struck by another vehicle, but he was completely sober.

quote:The break provides the hard jerk. But, yes, you would still go forward because the car decelerates (friction) not solely do to the hit from behind.
You go forward regardless of the brake after the initial rearward movement. Watch any whiplash animation.

How do you hit the FRONT of your head when you're hit in the BACK???? Does Travin Dural defy laws of physics?
Not sure why this is so hard for people to figure out. He was obviously sitting in the car backwards.

re read that slowly and see where it is wrong
Let me break your statement down for you. The driver of a stopped big rig truck was thrown forward due to the forward force of his foot on the brake.

Did not see this thread turning into a physics debate.... IT IS the Rant so i shouldve known better

this is front impact, where did the head go? Guess where it goes with rear impact.
The head went forward because the car stopped.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the impact.

quote:There's acceleration "forward" which throws you against the seat... then acceleration "backward" (caused by friction often aided by a brake) which makes the person's body move "forward" in the car.
The driver of a stopped big rig truck was thrown forward due to the forward force of his foot on the brake.
We're talking about forces... bodies at rest and bodies in motion and a 3 bodied system (car 1, car 2, and person).

Isnt there a physics board?
