I get the horrible feeling that the USA game will be cancelled and the SEC will get their way

I'll be gutted

I love your country, my wife has distant Irish ancestry (said 40% of all Yanks) and visiting Ireland is wonderful. A country that so highly values the art of written and spoken communication, the art of drinking and the art of drunken conquest has my vote as a place where one would be lucky to live.

Now about the weather there....maybe climate change is working for Erin.

Don't worry. If it does you come watch the game at my place, we'll BBQ, cook a Gumbo and tail gate like you're at TS.

Get to the stadium in plenty of time to take in the full tailgate experience. Not much compares to tailgate at TS.

I suggest you not wear any LSU shirts, as there will be over 100,000 of those shirts walking around. Wear something that lets us know you are from Ireland, get there early & you & your girl friend will drink & eat free, all you can eat & drink, all day/evening long. As for your girl friend: there are plenty bathrooms all over campus, but do bring toilet paper, as it WILL run out. You are meeting up with LSU fans, so that will take care of you seeing/doing all the things you should see around Tiger Stadium. A few do not's: no glass containers when drinking. Plastic or otherwise & you can drink and walk all you want. No umbrellas, so if bad weather is forecast, you can buy cheap ponchos any where on campus. Wear comfortable clothes & shoes. You will walk a LOT. Repeat: bring your own toilet paper. A shame Mike will not be around but you should stop by his cage anyway. Warning: Louisiana girls get just as drunk as their male companions. Enjoy !

I'll drink any American under the table!! :)

Probably so...when it comes to drinking, every European I've ever talked to considers American beer to be water lol.

LSU has a tradition of Saturday night games at home, so almost every game in Tiger Stadium is a 6 or 7pm kickoff. Only time its usually earlier in the day is when CBS picks the LSU game for their 2:30 game because CBS has first pick of TV rights for SEC games in their 2:30 time slot. Unless the Florida game gets rescheduled for Nov 19, expect any game vs South Alabama to be an evening kickoff. But I'd still recommend getting out there early...9-10 in the morning to have a full day of tailgate experience and have enough time to get a good buzz because once you're inside the stadium, they don't sell beer.

Like someone else mentioned, strike up a conversation with some tailgaters and mention that you're an LSU fan from Ireland attending your first game and you'll likely be welcomed into that tailgate party as an honored guest with all the food and beer you want.

Whisky fans said the same thing bout drinking us under the table. Truth be told, it was a draw as those folks can drink as well as anyone I've tailgated with. Warning Irish Lad: if anyone offers you a funnel, know what you are getting into.

Looks like you're in luck my friend. If you haven't gotten tickets yet, better jump on it when they come available.

Welp, your first game just got a huge experience upgrade. You're going to be walking into the midst of a very bitter rivalry dispute. Campus will be electric and the game, smash mouth!

You just lucked out big time, buddy.

Mooreman, you're probably the only one to win in all of this.

I saw a post earlier from someone who called the ticket office and they told him that USA tickets would be honored for the UF game. So I think you're golden.
