Is anyone else planning on just trying to buy tickets once they get there? I know it’s probably a long shot but we can’t get tickets we will just go to the walk ons party.

Was going to do this, but decided to bite the bullet and reserve a seat Shoal Creek Saloon.

It was a $50 deposit per seat to reserve, but you get a gift card for that amount that can be used for gameday. So basically I prepaid $200 worth of food and drink to guarantee my family seats inside.

That’s actually a pretty solid deal, but I think we will still just go ahead and take our chances on buying tickets outside the stadium.

Friday Night Parties

There are several parties for LSU fans taking place on Friday night. I'll try to keep a collection of them here.

Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co - FRIDAY NIGHT FAIS DO DO - A UT - LSU PREGAME PARTY LINK

Rustic Tap Texas Vs LSU - 4 Day Party LINK

LSU vs TEXAS Mardi Gras Party at Pelons LINK

All Day Happy Hour and AYCE Catfish buffet at Shoal Creek Saloon LINK

The Headliners Club on 6th street is hosting "An Evening with LSU" Friday night with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Thursday morning we are renting mnt bikes and riding some trails, then heading for lunch before a swim at Barton Springs...which lunch place would you guys suggest:

Uncle Billy's Brewhouse
The Picnic Food Truck Park

Thats going to me my plan but Im not going to overspend. I'll either try to get lucky and find something or just watch it somewhere near our hotel.

Out of those 2 options, I would go with Uncle Billy's. Food is decent, beer is pretty good.

Can’t believe you didn’t mention to “leave the homeless alone “it’s the law.

I’m a pretty particular and critical Austinite, but I approve of this list.

Only thing I would add from my take on this thread is that east 6th street deserves more attention.

West 6th is pretty fun during football season, but all other times of year it’s pretty douchey so it’s built for that.

If you party from Lamar to Chicon on 6th st (that’s like 2-3 miles long) and hit Rainey st, then you are partying right.

Let’s take this town over.

Don’t party around Campus, it’s no man land.

I have a feeling most LSU fans will be staying west of 35. East 6th street should be safe.

East 6th was cool 6 or 7 years ago. It's just condos now.

I saw that starting today, Austin PD will not be able to force homeless campers off sidewalks.

Thats going to make for some Piss and Shite filled sidewalks in Austin.

Actually it was the opposite, they are reversing the decision

LINK

well, at the very least reversing the decision so that they are no longer able to be in the following areas:

Adjacent to roadways and medians
Sidewalks, paths and trails
Schools/ childcare facilities
Creeks, rivers, high fire risk areas
Areas with high pedestrian activity
Shelters including the ARCH

FYI

I don’t see anymore homeless people in Austin than I did living in other cities like New Orleans or Dallas.

This narrative that the homeless are taking over the streets is completely false.

You can say this about anywhere in Austin .

There are still a lot of fun bars over there though. As more people move into Austin (and want to stay as close to downtown as possible like everyone else), population density will continue to increase and there will be condos next to the bars.
