Anyone else relieved Trask has 2 games less than a normal season? Otherwise I’d be real nervous about the possibility of him going after burrows passing td record.

The above statement is in no way saying trask is or ever will have a season like burrow.

Nah. The thing about this season is that although it is impressive that Trask is doing this against SEC competition, he has had to play the entirety of every game except Arkansas. Burrow sat out a lot of 4th quarters last year because we were blowing these lesser teams out.

For example, if you extrapolate Burrow's stats from the Clemson game across 15 games, then Burrow would have scored 90 total touchdowns over the season. Of course, that is not how football works, but it just goes to show the difference between the schedules of these two teams.

I mean, it seems obvious to me that defenses this year are significantly worse due to all the circumstances brought about by Covid and the inability to go about preparing in the spring fall and summer in the same way

No he didn’t. Burrow came out before the 4th quarter only twice last year, against Georgia Southern and Northwestern State.

Fair enough. At the very least, we didn't have to rely on Burrow's arm like Florida has to for Trask in many of the early games

Trask has played shitty defenses all year and Burrow beat the top 5 defenses in the country last season. Covid free and Burrow and our offense couldn't be stopped last season.

No one is a bigger burrow fan than me. That’s why I’m relieved there’s no chance his record doesn’t get broken bc of the less games. Obviously he’s not on burrows level and it would have been a shame if the shite defenses Trask are playing would allow him to get that record.

Defense is awful this year. Burrow played "statistically", the #1, #3, #7, #13, and #17 defenses last year. In those games he averaged 411 yards and 3.6 TDs. Again, that was vs 5 top 20 defenses.

3 less games. 2 less regular season and Florida isn’t going to the National Championship. He won’t sniff Burrow’s record.

That’s what I said in my post. 2 less games and possibly 3 less. I’m celebrating that fact

Thank for the stats but I’m simply celebrating burrows record won’t have a chance of falling.

Not going to happen, and besides, anything that happens this year will have an asterisk behind it. A few weeks ago I thought Miss. St.'s QB was going to win the Heisman.

Joe’s 6 best opponents:
(14-1) #2 Clemson
(12-2) #4 Georgia
(12-2) #7 Oklahoma
(11-2) #8 A1abana
(11-2) #6 Florida
(9-4) #14 Auburn
= 26 TDs - 1 INT - 2570 yards - 76% - 95.7 QBR

Trask’s 6 best opponents:
(5-1) #5 Texas A&N (Lost)
(4-2) #12 Georgia
(3-4) Ole Miss
(3-4) Arkansas
(2-3) Mizzou
(2-5) South Carolina
= 28 TDs - 3 INTs - 2241 yards - 70% - 93.9 QBR

I like Trask. Good story and a good QB.

But what Joe did - and who he did it against - will never be matched.

Huh? This year's defense is worse, but last year's was plenty bad. Without Burrow's arm, we lose Texas, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and there's a decent chance Ole Miss gets us. Wasn't until the A&M game that the defense started playing at a high level. Don't forget, even Vandy put over 30 on the board on us.

Burrow wouldn’t have lost to Texas A&M. Case closed.
