he was playing with a limited hand that year. He knew changes had to be made, but all of the changes in the world would be useless without a good QB and they knew they didn't have one at the time and had to go out and get one. Thereafter, once they realized what they had for a QB they started working on the transition. Things don't happen overnight youngster.

do I think Ensminger was integral in our 2019 offense? not really.

I think Brady had a huge impact on the offensive game planning and execution, but he had also never called a play in a game in his life before this year. He and Ensminger worked together, and no matter how much all of your armchair QBs battle back and forth, not one of you knows exactly who called what when or how often. All we know for sure is that they worked together calling the games.

All I am saying is that I can guarantee you that Brady actually learned some from Steve, as well. As important as he was, Brady didn’t do it alone. Neither did Steve. Not by a long shot. I don’t believe either one of them alone could have put the same offense on the field this year. I don’t think Steve can do it alone this coming season, either, so hopefully O makes the right hire again to keep things working smoothly.

except SE offensive philosophy looks nothing like our 2019 offense.

SE has a max protect philosophy that invites more defenders to the los and shrinks the amount of the field the defense has to defend while 2019 lsu spread defenses out and made them defend the entire field.

no one said that Ensminger doesnt have experience and football wisdom.
I'm sure Brady did learn a lot from Ensminger but not in regards to the 2019 offensive scheme.

No doubt Brady brought a lot to this team but this started before the past offseason. The offense was starting to come together the last few games of 2018. There came a point in the A&M game where for the first time in what seemed like a decade it felt like we could make the plays when we needed them. Joe Burrow was coming of age and we finally had a QB. Brady made a nice contribution to this offense but Burrow is what made this offensive revolution happen. Next years offense will go as the QB goes.

Shut the fk up about offense and tell us about how great the only 2 loss coach in history to win a Natty was. Be sure to add statistics and shite

LSU has some of the worst insiders.

Also notice difference between Scott and Alleva. Leaks were running rampant in every search before. That has stopped and it’s a good thing

Either Scott W. yields a lot of power or a lot of LSU insiders trust him. This is the same guy who signed Jimbo Fisher to a $70 million dollar deal, so don't go too far with giving away all that trust.

Ensminger used Brady’s binder to call plays, that’s the implication of some here, it’s all about the importance of the binder not Joe.

This is partly true. O and Ensminger did try to run a pro style spread in 2018 or say a version of it which is what O said he wanted to do. It obviously wasn't crisp and potent enough so he went after Brady to upgrade the offense to the most potent and dangerous playbook in the NFL, and now college, when operated by an elite QB.
Really the only way to really prove how much of a factor Brady was in the booth with E is to have another year with the same players minus Brady but not realistic.

The coaching staff after 2018 season decided to change the scheme to RPO and hired Brady to help implement. Prior to the 2018 season they consulted with the Saints started the process.

Give credit to coach O for committing to the change and coach E for accepting the help. The RPO has taken over college football and Brady did not invent the offense and I am sure if LSU has the players to run this type of offense then we can find the help to continue the RPO.

Without Burrow this year would have been different with or without Brady and next year most likely things will change with or without Brady.

Yep. O said he’s just gonna put Aranda on skype during the game and let him call the defense that way

Wow, nobody has any thoughts about the Curtis Johnson speculation?

he would be an exciting, top notch hire for sure but it's being speculated that if that happens, the Saints won't let O around the team any longer...

I think it's expected that Johnson will remain with the Saints

Ensminger called all the plays except the bunch formation and anything inside the 12 us line.

Brady would talk to QB between drives so that Ensminger would be setting up the plays for next drive after what he and Brady saw the previous drive.

When did the position of passing game coordinator begin? Does every team have one?
