This should have been obvious to anyone with a brain after reading the first report.

But no, idiot rantards find it perfectly believable that this senior in high school with a full ride to LSU for football decided to start "punching the detective" with his badge displayed and probably gun or cuffs out and immediately began calling him a thug pos and bashing his brother who got in a barfight once with several other players and was in an apartment where weed was found.

Gotta love fans on message boards.

It's another he said/he said deal. No one will ever know the truth

That sounds like a good theory but I'm gonna go with the police version that Ricky and his boyz were patrolling the parade route for cops to jump.

I know you are being sarcastic, but many people really think this way!

I was suspicious when the initial report put out by the PD said that the cop originally (I hope I am remembering this correctly, this from my recollection of one of the original articles)told RJs friend to watch his language (at a Mardi Gras parade, no less) and then proceeded to try to arrest him (on what charge exactly, I am uncertain) when the kid told him what to do with himself.

Something just sounded wrong there.

I'm sure it's all Miles fault, anyway.

If by same shite you mean overzealous law enforcement being dickheads, then yeah.

I'm willing to give him a pass on this one because that really does ring true, but he's got to realize, his brother poisoned the well with the fanbase before he ever set foot on the campus. He won't get the same kind of do-overs Jordan got. He better become a goddamn choirboy and learn his lesson here. He doesn't have the luxury of getting into fights, going out getting annihilated, smoking weed or anything else if he wants to make it out of LSU and into any kind of football career.

This version is much more believe able.
If the witness quotes are right, no principled prosecutor would try to pursue it.
Actually Sampson might have a valid civil case, but there are no damages. again, the presence of plain clothes cops in this environment makes little sense and is kind of suspicious.
This is why NO law enforcement has such a bad rep.

seems to surround himself with intelligent people

quote:

“My son,” Mrs. Sampson continued, “doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t do drugs—he’s an athlete! David is a graduating senior, an honor roll student with a 3.6 grade point average—he scored a 32 on his ACT and he’s been awarded a number of both academic and athletic scholarships… but he lives and breathes academics. He has ABSOLUTELY no criminal background and the most significant issue that I have had to deal with regarding school infractions over his years at Destrehan was two uniform violations—he went to class with his blue gym sweatpants.”

what a thug

OK I don't know the fact of what went down but this has got to be the stupidest statement I have seen on the rant in a long time. Some people just have no clue about cops. I am not out to bash cops as a whole or anything but to believe that they are above all things illegal is ridiculous.

I have a friend, white, that got arrested for walking down the sidewalk during Mardi Gras. Policemen on horseback almost rode over him from behind and they arrested him for attacking their horses.

Have any New Orleans police ever been arrested for murder! Yep!

Like I said I am not defending RJ but to just blanketly consider all cops as clean and pure as mother Teresa is foolish.

This is the big issue in all of it. They should have every cop in uniform down there. God forbid they put deterring crime over making arrests over petty drug crimes.

What do overs???

JJ had one disciplinary issue at LSU.

He was involved in a bar fight along with several other players a month before his senior year.

As a result, he was suspended for a third of his final season, and lost his starting job until Lee folded against Bama and JJ steadied the ship to help get out of Bama with a win in the GOTC.

All over actions that netted him a $100 fine in criminal court.

Of course, he sucked hard on 1/9 along with everyone else on our team, so he's a thug pos for life now, but just not sure how you think he got so many "do overs".

Care to explain??
