Where's LSU? Down here -

Ohio State, Clemson, Utah, Oregon...all near the top.

The simple fact is that the concern over the defense is completely legitimate. We've gone from fielding top 10 defenses a few years ago to now ranking almost 50th in the country.

We're all ecstatic with what this team is doing. But it's OK to express concern about an area of the team that clearly doesn't match up with what other future playoff teams are doing.

Now do the other side of the story. Do the offense.

Same argument we’ve had for a decade with offense. That scheme was broken. This scheme is broken. All this “the game has changed” nonsense is irrelevant. The same metrics are used for every team. And we are falling.

I hope Aranda gets a HC position. It will be an absolute blessing

You’re trying to justify your melting.

There’s people on this board and others wanting Aranda fired TODAY. That’s not “showing concern.”

Indiana is the toughest offense OSU has faced.

Did we trail apart for 1 possession in texas and Florida game all season? I don't think so. 1 Game at a time. Each game demands different plan and when needed we step up. Enjoy the ride and stop ruining your fun

I would love to see Aranda fix the problems, but if he couldn’t by the second bye week, then we are what we are. And that’s a defense that tackles poorly and can’t play fundamental assignment football. The numbers speak for themselves in this respect, as do the offensive numbers that other teams have put up against us.

Agreed, that is melting

There are also posters, like the OP, who believe the defense has issues that need to be addressed if we want to win a national title.

To which the usual response is "STFU 10-0!"

This is his point.

The good news is that LSU has faced 3 of the top 13 scoring defenses and averaged 37 ppg against them.

Then explain how UGA, UF and Auburn are so much higher than us? Two of the three run up tempo offenses. Auburn’s D lives on the field because of their shite offense. They haven’t just played cupcakes. Why is our defense not in any way, shape or form comparable to the best in this league?

What are you expecting? Ohio State or Clemson to have the 47th ranked offense in the country?

LSU is second. Clemson 3rd. Ohio State 4th. Utah and Oregon both in the top 25.

LSU's defensive ranking is the only aberration here among teams in contention for a playoff spot.

**(ETA: member not that long ago how those same idiots thought Aranda was a mad genius and demanded that alleva open up the checkbook and sign him to head coach in waiting before someone else came along and took him from us? And how it was wished for that an offensive coordinator the magnitude of Aranda’s defensive prowess could be found? I member.)**

Last year at this time those miserable fricktards were complaining as well.

However,...........

It was about the offense.

Those same assholes truly believe that xboxplaystation and travel ball coaching equates to P5 coaching, or coaching on any level.

Moral of the story; they’re knuckleheads that have to complain about anything and everything and aren’t happy unless they’re miserable and complaining.

On that same note, Lord forbid and let the offense sputter for a game. Marks my words those bums will flip their switches and be out with pitchforks and torches towards the offensive staff.

I’m not going to deny that Ole Miss ran through us like shite through a goose but this comparison is slightly skewed. You have to look at the overall picture. Who have we played… And who have they played? If our defense is not up to par in comparison to past teams so be it… No one is going to be able to keep up with our offense. Nobody beats LSU this year ...... Period !!!
