We were scoring tons of points because of defense and special teams. When Jefferson returned to the starting role, the offense itself was very limited.

Have to beat Auburn before I can put them on 2011 LSU level. Defense is improving now we have some guys back though.

We beat Auburn 45-10 in 2011.

I agree with this in a general sense, but (BIG BUT) we have Joe Burrow. I'll take that guy over anybody in a shootout

Except our defense is better than all 3 of those teams. 2011 had at least 2 teams if you count oklahoma. Here's what you guys didn't consider

Those 3 teams would also score on 2011s defense.

If 2011 and today's team played, Joe would win 8 or 9 of 10. The only way 2011 wins is a huge game by HB7

Agree. 2011 defense was ridiculously good. The offense, however, ranked just ahead of ULM in total yards per game that year. Not good. My money would be on Joe and company in a close one.

8 or 9 of 10? Nah. You're underestimating that 2011 squad.

It's a mixed bag....maybe one of the best offenses we've had to this point.....the "D" is definitely not one of our better ones....

I think this 7-0 is second to 2011 but I think the final 7 will be better this go round.

I mean, I was 100% convinced we were winning it all in 11 when we butt fricked Auburn and UF.

I'm not rt now because of the offenses. We could easily lose in a shootout to some of these teams. That was never happening in 2011.

2011 team had some early-season magic with the honey badger, but as soon as that magic started to fade that team came down to earth in a hurry.

What? Every game was a fricking blowout except for bama. You guys try to sell our best team short.

We finished with the best record in all of football. Beat every team we played.

The magic only faded against Alabama in the rematch. After the 9-6 game they were still pummeling everyone including them #3 Arkansas 41-17. And #12 UGA 42-10 and that’s without a first down in the first half.

Miles overall offensive philosophy was out dated and the pass game atrocious but not every game was 92 yards and 0 points. Outside of Bama that year, and that Bama D was an all timer too, they just rolled everyone else.

Didn’t the 2011 beat more ranked teams than anyone?

You are going over board this is really really good by there still huge strides to be made on defense. And the running game has not been stellar enough.
