No sir! 2011 7-0 seemed most legit.

Oregon was better than any team LSU has beaten so far

LSU also went on the road at this point and had a fight with WVU

Both this year and 2011 feel similar. In 2015 I had a bad feeling we weren't quite that good. Then when we got to the gauntlet of the schedule, it all came apart

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. I don’t know about “ever” but this team is legit. If the D continues on upward trajectory the sky is the limit.

2011 felt pretty legit.

I also Felt in my heart that LF7 was going to run over everyone in the world. But that was more blind optimism

Best LSU team ever at this junction of season

This team is legit, no doubt.

But I have NEVER seen a LSU football team manhandle, and I mean manhandle, teams like the 2011 team did.

So this isn't a legit thread.

Idk, 2011 was such a good defense. But having a true professional offense its like we are the Saints out there, it definitely feels different.

2011 I was more confident. We were scoring tons of points, and playing lights out defense. Although I'm pretty darn confident in this team as well.

We had Les Miles and Greg Studrawa’s offense in 2011. That team was not better than this version.

Have to beat Auburn before I can put them on 2011 LSU level. Defense is improving now we have some guys back though.

2011 had the best defense in lsu history and a bad offense. Yes. Bad. Jj was and always will be garbage. This team has a good defense and the best offense in lsu history and nation when healthy on the Oline. We would find a way to score at least 21 on 2011 D. Probably more. This team doesn't turn the ball over hardly at all.

Agreed. This team runs an NFL offense with a 1st round QB pick. It would have scored on the 2011 defense (Alabama or LSU’s). This defense could and would limit Les Miles 2011 offense.

I don’t know what happens the rest of the year with so many other titans playing well right now but I think this team could beat many of the recent national champions over the past 15 years.

I understand you're excited about the season, and so you should be, but slow your roll young one. I was quit confident we'd beat Bama for the second time in 2011 and be recognized as having the best season in College football history. But I digress.

This will have nothing to do with this topic, but I couldn't reply to this ridiculous post you left me in the "score board" last night, since it's closed, so I'll respond here. You said this:

"We have Auburn and Bama coming up, and you think exposing Burrow on third and long, in a game that was never in doubt, is a good idea? You’re hot for Heismans; Orgeron is hunting championships. My only criticism of the coaches is that they left Burrow in the game two series too many."

Are you kidding me? Hot for Heisman's? What makes you think the game was "never in doubt"? Was it when the game was 9-7, late in the first half? You thought we shouldn't be "exposing" our QB at that point? I didn't ask that we go bombs away when it was 36-7, late in the third quarter. It was everything leading up to that, where we were too conservative, at times.

I guess you didn't watch lowly Illinois put up 24 points on that Wisconsin defense that had like 4 shutouts coming in? And, oh yeah, they also BEAT Wisconsin.

Pardon me for pointing out that we could have been doing more in a game that was CLEARLY in doubt, if you know ANYTHING about college football.

And it was also just an observation to say that we didn't fail to score 50 plus points because State stopped us. We stopped ourselves, seemingly by choice at times. I was pretty clear about that, and in no way was I flaming the coaches for it. I just said it was out of character.

But I guess you had to find something to disagree with, so you could complain for no reason.

It was until we came down the stretch and our passing game started sputtering. Arkansas jumped out 14-0 on us until we scored in the 2nd quarter and it took a 90+ yard punt return by Honey Badger to really turn the game around. Same thing in the SECCG. We were down 10-0 (should have been 17-0) in the 2nd quarter, but Honey Badger returned another punt for a TD to put us on the board. We trailed at half and he recovered another fumble leading to a TD. We only finished with 230 yards of offense in that game including 35 passing yards.

There are three teams that can duel with LSU offensively. In 2011 there were not 3 teams that could stand up to LSU's defense. There was one and we had to beat them twice to win the NC.
