Dude if we make a super next year the announcers will get to tell a story like "man these LSU baseball fans are so great. Last year they congratulated stony brook after they beat them here " and I can be all "hey that's me they're talking about!!"
It just sucks we won't be able to tell that story in Alex box north this year

So I'm selfish because I don't want to celebrate with or congratulate a team that just whipped our arse with much of that arse whipping coming because of shite we did or didn't do? OK......would you buy that I'm going to cheer harder than shite for UCLA next friday as well?
However, to show my unselfish nature I would offer to buy you a drink at any establishment in Lafayette while UCLA puts on this beatdown....sound good?

our fans do it so they can run home and see how many people in the media proclaim how great and classy they are.
the first few times it was cool; but it got attention and it hasn't died. . It's just become forced and insincere at this point.
Yep. And they just showed a clip of it on ESPN. Now they can sleep well tonight.
There were even a bunch of fans clapping after the SB shortstop snagged that line drive it the 8th. Him catching that pretty much killed any hope. I couldn't believe all people could think about was clapping for him.

The Box breaks most teams. Teams that survive it and win should be congratulated. This isn't football. Of course no one would stay around the Dome to congratulate Bama. It is totally different, especially since it was a team from America East and not an SEC opponent.

LSU Baseball Fans: Best fans in the country, especially if you eliminate us from the post season.

Sportsmanship is greater than your fandom....and it is largely missing nowadays in sports at many levels....
Baseball fans are a little different than football fans....
No LSU fans were clapping for cam newton on the td run where he shredded the LSU defense
Plenty were clapping for the SB ss on a great play
As for the worst pitcher to throw a complete game vs LSU hardly and it aint even close....
Glad to see our baseball fans show some class

Football is a world away from baseball. Football is a war of power and position, speed and strength. Baseball is a game played in a park, while wearing a cap
LSU baseball fans can cheer for a small school who came and played a great series.
LSU football fans can and will continue to throw bags of piss.

I didn't think it was possible but something has already disappointed me more than our performance in the series.....and it's our fans performance after the series was over

Hating another team just isn't "classy." Kudo's to Bama. I applaud you. I high five you. I mean - they did play an outstanding game afterall.
No I get what you are saying but maybe a different team should have been used in his comparison. My arse would not have stayed and high fived no other team but LSU. I would have been so pissed at that performance I would not have stayed anyway.

I fail to see how not giving them a victory lap in our stadium would be showing poor sportsmanship.

Look, I agree that a lot of our fans do it for attention but I think some are genuine. What good does it do for a fan to have a woe is me attitude after a loss? I'm just as guilty of it myself but it doesn't really change a damn thing. With that said, you can still be upset but also recognize a job well done by the other team. A victory lap is probably taking it too far but I absolutely have no problem with a standing ovation.

This makes me laugh. You think I was rooting any less hard for LSU during the game? You think I wouldn't put a shiv between Nick Saban's shoulderblades?

Hey guys, why don't we just get the LSU band to play Pregame and spell out SBU for them? Why don't we roll out a freaking SeaWave in a cage before the game? Why don't we sing the alma mater for them and change the last words to "Forever SBU"?
A victory lap is a LSU tradition, not Stony Brook. Clap for them, fine. Tell them good game, fine. But that's just totally stupid to encourage them to take a victory lap.
How do you think that made the LSU players feel?

You know baseball is a game of class. Ty Cobb was probably the classiest person in history.
