To learn how to slide in order to be more confident as a runner. Fascinating take….

Go to the 39:15 mark

Or maybe Brian Kelly needs to spend more time at a coaching clinic

Whatever happened with Todd? Was he on pills or something?

Nuss has proven he can run, but he doesn’t like taking hits like Burrow did. Having confidence in sliding could increase Nuss’ confidence to run

A lot of his interceptions were due to his fear of being hit. Threw off his back foot constantly. Hopefully Nuss improves in that area as that will help him take the next step. He also does need to run more to extend drives.

Have any of you guys thought that maybe his coaches told him to never run unless the situation demanded it and he had a clear field for the needed yardage ? Why would they limit him....because we had absolutely nothing behind him. If Nuss went down, our season was over.
I fully expect that Nuss will definitely run more this coming year, as this is his last year and he has competent backup.
Never be like JD, but guess what, no other qb will either. He was one of a kind. If we put qb draws in our playbook, which I fully expect, then Nuss will make plenty of timely runs in 2025.

I never believed the coaches told him to not run. He’s afraid of contact/injury on runs which was obvious.

Burrow was just a different cat. That guy fed off contact. Nuss isn’t Burrow and that’s ok. He just has to learn to get down.

There were plays last year he needed three yards, with Not a defender with 10 yards of him with a wide open field and he didn’t run

This is my biggest concern about Nuss. He threw off balance too many times when he didn’t have to. He could have set his feet. He really needs to improve there.

Nuss has a little too much confidence in his Off balance throws. He’s good at them, but he needs to learn when he doesn’t need to use them.

Maybe, but very funny someone with 175,000 posts on the internet telling someone else what to spend more time on.

Nuss can run, but stay strong with your knowledge.

The rant never lets me down. They absolutely told him not to run. Who’d they have behind him last year. Nuss gets hurt and season is completely over. You could see his frustration on the sidelines at games when he could have ran for yardage. Then he has more rushing yards in the bowl game than he almost had all year. 2+2=4 my guy.

A lot of us aren't talking about Nuss running on passing plays. We are talking about him keeping it a couple of times a games on running plays to keep the defense honest.

Are you sure you’re not talking about Tim Tebow here?

I don’t recall watching Burrow absorbing contact and bulldozing people at LSU. I think you fantasized that in your mind.

not me ,calling zone reads with him isn't going to do a whole lot. he's not athletic enough to have to play the qb on a read. we need him to be able to scramble for first downs on 3rd down ,especially when the d is in man coverage with their backs turned

Nussmeier made a really nice run on a passing play against Ole Miss, about 15 yards or so, straight up the middle of the field. Otherwise, he never seemed to look for the opportunity.

He does seem to throw off his back foot too much, but not as much as The King of the back foot throw, Jarrett Lee. He was simply terrified of contact, and he imagined pressure when it wasn't even there. He wasn't sacked much because he was gonna fling it, regardless of the coverage. He managed to live a charmed life until the Alabama game. His second interception was so atrocious, Les never trusted him again.

Nuss was better than JB their first year starting. Quit acting like JB was great his first year....or JD for that matter.
