People are forgetting the rules will change and Wade said himself this is really a one year stop gap to get a roster together and it won't be like this in future years.

People aren't forgetting that. They are just ignorant of that fact. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop them from spouting off ill-informed opinions. That's kind of the nature of LSU basketball fandom today. Because LSU basketball hasn't won a big or consistently as football and baseball over the last 20 plus years, most of the fanbase are just casual fans. That disinterest has led to a LOT of ignorance with respect to not just LSU basketball, but NCAA basketball on the whole. If often leads to mindlessly dumb opinions and debates.

Bingo. That was a nice favor for Oats to do for Wade

I agree.

But also, LSU baseball has won two titles in the last three seasons and it has seemingly led to a LOT of ignorance with respect to not just LSU baseball, but NCAA baseball on the whole. If often leads to mindlessly dumb opinions and debates.

We have to have a better solution prior to the season...This is not what college basketball is meant to be.

So I guess what it's meant to be is buying out folks by the big money Florida basketball folks to cover for your overt perverted and repeated actions against co-eds on your own campus while under the guise of being a family man? Yeah, that's better

Shocking that the "journalist" didn't push back on that. He mentioned it in passing, but doesn't seem to have asked Golden in person.

Indeed - a journalist ignoring one coaches issues to try an villainize WW - shocking indeed - unprecedented!!

In theory, I agree with Golden. College basketball isn't supposed to be about enrolling mid-20's pros to play for the college team. But that is an antiquated view because the game has changed. College basketball is not "supposed to be about "yearly free agency with ever increasing payments to players either. Yet, that hasn't stopped Golden from participating in such.

Players going from pro to college is a new development. But that is because the marketplace did not really allow for that development until recently. Before NIL, it was rarely financially beneficial to leave a pro job where a player was paid for a college "job" where he theoretically wasn't. However, in many instances the NIL payments are larger than many international contracts. So the international players are doing with people in all professions have done forever. They are following the money. If there is a loophole in the rules that allow schools to sign pros of this nature, then why shouldn't they do so? Just because LSU's competitors don't think LSU should?

Wade talked about it in an interview a couple weeks ago. Said they go out to dinner and txt regularly now.

Wade’s an a-hole

He’s out a-hole but he’s generally thought of as a prick

That sort of persona sets a high bar

He better win

He really isn’t and anyone who knows him knows he isn’t. He doesn’t like bullshite and he’s very chippy towards the corrupt NCAA and the media.
