You want a lefty to bat against a righty logically.
well, Brown and Pearson are our RFs. Brown sucks against lefties. Pearson is better. So, he gets the start. I'd imagine he gets PH for unless he just goes off.

I understand the whole thing with struggling against lefties for some players, but it kind of sends a message of hey I know yall got us here but there’s a lefty today and I don’t trust yall. But he’s the World Series winning coach so I’m not gonna judge it yet, gonna see how it plays out.

That’s some serious tinkering there Jay.

He had Cade Beloso leading off in the third game of the championship series.

After that worked, I'm all in with Jay's moves.

But I'm now curious to see Curiel's numbers vs LHP because I didn't think it was that bad

I think he's had one hit against a lefty in the past month. Jam shot double against a&m.

I'm not sure Pearson is a massive upgrade in that leadoff spot but your only other option in RF is Brown and he can't hit lefties worth a lick.

I wonder why they don't try Frey In RF when opposing team is throwing lefty.

Pearson batting leadoff, Dickinson batting 6th, Curiel batting 7th?

Pearson hits LHP pretty well.

I get that Pearson may be a better hitter against lefties, but Pearson ain’t that good of a hitter overall so it’s not like he’s adding much more.

I think Stanfields more valuable at the 9 spot to turn the lineup over.

Moving Curiel down assures he will see the lefty at most twice. Good move

You gotta hit a black jack table to see more shuffling than that.

Don’t know what Pearson has done lately to be batting first. I trust the short tinkering man tho

I went all the way back to the Arkansas series and with some very rough math he has a whole 1 hit since then and that was against South Carolina.

With that said, I trust CJJ. He seems to know what buttons to push and when.

ETA: sorry he appears to have 2 hits batting roughly .125 since the Arkansas series

Curiel in the 7 and Pearson leading off

Maybe he thinks Curiel might try to push too much being a freshman in a big spot? Horrible to have someone who gets on base so much down so far in the lineup with Braswell behind him considering how he's been struggling so much lately.

I don't care for this lineup. Pearson and Curiel should be reversed, at the least.
