How many of these dumbasses saying they want UF to lose will be hoping Tech beats Texas?
Honestly didn't think about this game. I want LSU to beat Texas. Don't give a flying frick about their other games.

We beat Florida and Bama beats us. Florida goes 9-3 and Bama and LSU both go 11-1...you’re pulling for Florida in SEC championship game?
No, I'm not pulling for either.
I'm sorry, I just won't. LSU will get in when it deserves it.

yeah, I'm not rooting for any fricking Gators. Nope. Not happening.

Well how the frick else am I supposed to take it? Figuratively? Ok, so everything you say is in jest and you don't really mean it. Got it.
I would have thought you could understand I wasn't saying that the committee doesn't consider SOS at all. But without the precise formula where .001 could make a difference, a marginal difference like 1 game with 1 future opponent won't really matter.

What am I missing? You straight up say
For crying out load man, what you are missing is the rest or the freaking paragraph.

At least not a mathematical formula like in the BCS. The playoff team are picked by the committee and no one will look at LSUs schedule and say it wasn’t strong enough if Florida is 8-4 or 9-3 instead of 10-2. It will be about LSU and how we play.
You've said repeatedly you get it, but then keep harping on this one sentence that you are taking out of context. I'm sorry if it wasn't clear in a 1 quick response, though i think ive explained it, but since you insist on going back to this, i will retract my original answer and rephrase
Q :I just haven't heard a logical reason to root against having a stronger strength of schedule.
A: How about because it isn't calculated in a formula like it was during the BCS, so 1 loss by one of our opponents is UNLIKELY to make any significant difference in our playoff chances. I do not think Florida at 9-3 or 8-4 will cause the committee to think our SOS as weak. There are numerous examples from past playoff teams : for example Alabama made it in 2017 despite playing 4-8 Tennessee and 5-7 Vandy, 2 teams that did not win an SEC game except for Vandy beating Tennessee. Do you think if UT had lost to Ga Tech to open that season it would have keep Alabama out? Of course not. Ohio State made the first playoff despite playing a 5-7 Michigan team. USC losing 52-3 to Alabama did not keep Washington from making the playoff in 2016 even though they lost to USC.
There is that better? More clear for you ?

yes my mistake for assuming someone could figure it out without a detailed explanation since it was just . quick response on a phone. If no one considered SOS then UCF would have been in the playoffs the last 2 years.

When we beat a team like Oregon, West Virginia, Washington, Miami you don’t hope those teams win to make our win look better atthe end of the season?

ignore the downvoters, of course I'm pulling for the Gators. It helps us if every one of our opponents wins every game -- except against us.

Great. The first of many times this dumb shite is posted here this year.

I want Texas to go 11-1.

You're delusional if you think one out-of-conference loss by Florida on week 0 would make a difference in LSU making the playoffs or not.

If the day ever comes when the SEC is not the undisputed leader, top, best, most competitive conference then maybe I'll cheer for other SEC schools against ooc opponents. But as of right now I'd love to see Florida, Alabama, A&M, etc. get their shite pushed in. I just don't like them. Florida can go 0-12 and it would not affect our playoff chances one bit. So for now I might as well enjoy watching them lose. But if ever the SEC is not the premier conference in the land and we actually need our opponents to win to boost our SOS then I might consider cheering for those jort wearing, mullet sporting, inbred suns-a-bitches. But not today
