What a horrible thing to commemorate. And it just got worse for Camp Curley, until he was fired

I was 5 years old and remember my Dad losing his shite at the TV with vague memories of Auburn running these back for TDs.

My wife was outside working in her flower beds. I was inside with my younger son watching that abomination.
I was yelling bad words so loud that a neighbor came over sort of scared and asked if everything was OK.
My wife told her , “ LSU must be losing.”
My son, who was a LA Tech student, was laughing.
He couldn’t believe what was happening.
The thing is, the neighbor’s house was probably 150 yards from ours.

Hallman and Lynn Amadee should have never been allowed on the plane back.

I always said that’s the one game I would have fired the coach on the field.

Horrible play calling aside, look at 14 running wide open parallel to the double covered receiver Howard threw to

Easier pass with nobody 15 yards from him

Howard didn't do himself any favors. Every INT he threw was just terrible

All the more reason to blame Amadee. You could tell Jamie didn’t have that day, and in the 4th quarter he was done. Zero confidence. But we didn’t even need to score again. Just run the ball every down, run the clock down to the last second, and punt. The ONLY way we lose that game is the way we did.

But I wasn’t pissed at Amadee as much for us losing as I was for what he was doing to Jamie’s psyche. It was borderline sadistic. Of course Hallman deserves a lot of blame himself. He either didn’t tell Lynn to cut the shite out or he made him keep calling those. Either way was inexcusable.

I never blamed Howard for that loss. I felt sorry for him because he had to play for two complete dunces.

And--if I remember correctly--Jamie got death threats in the days following the game, which was classless. Think of having to be constantly reminded of that game for decades to come, but still have enough grace in himself to allow his son to be on the team. Those who continue to resurrect and dwell on Jamie's mistakes in that game perhaps possess some type of diabolical bent to point out everyone else's splinter, yet cannot see the 2x4 in their own. Give Jamie credit for being a real man since.

Way more on Amadee than Jamie. Teenage Hot Carl wanted to jump through the tv screen and literally beat Amadee to death with my bare hands. Even at that age, I knew most of that wasn’t on Howard.

Pretty similar to me getting kicked out of the house. Except I was punching the tv. ( For you younger dudes, TV were way more solid then todays). And could have been a little cursing and screaming at the tv. And 120 degree heat can calm you down.

And for the barn burning down, but I think we won that one.
