I just remember Roland struggling with asthma cause the Wisconsin game was played at 5,000 ft. Bad memory.

Without a doubt, Wisconsin in Albuquerque was absolutely, positively the worst draw ever for that LSU team. That group was a finesse team and Wisconsin just literally beat the crap out of them and made them look horrible. Brady got a lot of criticism after that game, but that is one thing that I can't in good conscience leave at his feet. Shitty draw, shitty venue, shitty town.

Everyone was so sad at school. Even my teachers were like it was so sad seeing that boy needing oxygen. :'(

I don't know why I had it in my head he didn't play that game... Were they missing another key contributor?

Pretty sure Walton had been injured and was just returning around the time of the LSU game.

He did the same dunk to a scrub team earlier in the year. I can't remember who though.

Grambling. LSU thumped them by 60 or some ridiculous number.

I remember seeing the breakaway in the Zona game and knowing he was gonna do that dunk. Nearly took the roof off the place.

Was it maybe richard jefferson in the 2000 game? I remember hearing the students chanting "GIMP GIMP GIMP" at someone

John Brady alone makes that 2000 team better than this year in so many ways.

That was one of the most fun sporting events I've ever attended.

Chris Mihm probably feels the same way about us

I was at the game when Stro blocked his dunk and then posterized him on the other end a bit later. Great game.

That was the best slam I've ever seen in person and the craziest I've ever seen a basketball crowd go over one play. It was perfect timing. That team demolished some teams.

The 2000 team probably was a better all-around team than the 2006 team.

The 2006 team just got to play soft arse Duke in the Sweet 16.

What UCLA did to us in 2006 is pretty much exactly what Wisconsin did to us in 2000. UCLA just did it with NBA talent all over the floor.

the teams are actually pretty similar. scoring threats inside and out, athletic, perimeter defenders, at least one consistent outside threat(beshara/darrel mitchell) and others who were adequate (roland, ct3, tas, ct4) and no true pernt. 2006 was probably more athletic but 2000 is right there.

End of the first half! I'll never forget it. I'm pretty sure the only broadcast of the game was Fox Sports regional from Arizona, and the announcers were ridiculous. They were saying shite like "if it wasn't for that 18-2 first half run by LSU, the 'Cats would have pulled this one out!"

Also that year vs. UK when Stromile sent what might have been Magliore's first shot of the game about three rows behind the bench was epic, too.

the whole tournament was officiated in a manner that allowe organized mugging for those wishing to do so. Wisky took advantage of that against us and each team they played until the semi-finals.

Michigan St. beat Wisky in that semi-final because they figured it out and returned the favor. Mateen Cleeves said, they were holding us on every trip down so we started holding them too.
