That looks like Apple Sanders to his right helping carry him off. Interviewer: “What was the shot that did it?” Dumbest question ever.

If there had been a 3 point line, it would have been set MUCH earlier.

He was amazing, got to see him once.

The man single handedly changed an entire sport. Can't count how many times he bounced a ball off someone's head that had no idea it was coming... you had to learn how to play with him.

Cannot imagine it ever being broken. As most know thats without the 3pt line and his freshman totals. Even then the chances of a current D-1 player that good sticking around 4 years is slim. Probably have to be a situation like Jimmer at BYU, maybe a service academy, or coaches son. Even then Steph and Jimmer I think were still pretty far off.

Went to New Orleans Jazz Games.
Municipal Auditorium
Loyola Field House
Superdome

Nothing like that experience and never will be in sports again.
Didn’t even matter if we won.
It was all about seeing him play.

Just imagine if he were credited for 3's what sort of scoring figures he'd have!

The greatest tiger of all time. And there will never be another as skilled as Pete was.

I graduated from LSU in the Spring ´69 and stayed in Baton Rouge another year just so I could watch them!

Pete’s early passing touched me like no other athlete. Got to see him as a Tiger a few times & countless times with the jazz. Tear still comes to the eyes each year.
RIP - Thanks for the memories

Pete: "That last shot did it. It went through, didn't it?"
