Any updates on these two?

Last I heard, Toby played in the AAF and Alexander wasn’t drafted.

Any news on them?

Ed signed with the Seahawks. Neither had any business leaving school early from a football standpoint. At least try to get your degree to fall back on because neither have a great chance of sticking in the league.

Actually just googled Ed.

He got an invite to workout for the Seahawks but never signed.

As of 5/9 he got invited to try out for the Buccaneers but again wasn’t signed.

I heard he left early not for financial reasons but because he had a history of being injured at LSU

Can always go back and work towards a degree if things don’t work out.

Would be much easier to do that with someone else footing the bill.

According the contract websites it says that Toby has made $103,000 in the NFL. Not to mention he got about $49,000 before the AAF collapsed.

Hopefully he saved some money so he can get his degree.

Apparently Ed has bad knees and he wanted to try to make as much money as he could while they hold up which is understandable

Everyone cried out for Ed to reconsider. He cost his family a lot of money for not waiting 1 more year to move on.

I never have understood why players leave college early knowing they won't be a good pick. Wait until you are matured as much as you can and prepared as well as you can before you go to the league, then enter the draft. A lot of maturity and skill can be added in a year. These kids are making huge mistakes a lot of times and it's not in their best interest educationally or athletically.

Toby maybe but Ed needed to go. Guys before making a strong opinion try gathering information on the situation. Ed 100% needed to go.

He would have potentially costed them even more money if he blew his knee out during his senior year.

How much did he cost his family by not completing his college degree? Does he now have to pay for the remaining semesters out of pocket because he forfeited his scholarship?

Pro football isn’t in everyone’s future. There are only 1664 of this jobs in the nation. Statisicallly the odds are not in your favor for landing one of those jobs unless you are the elite of the elite.

Object of college is to become employable. There are other avenues that one can choose if they want to be connected to the game of football.

He would have his degree if he stayed. It’s not he is making any money at all right now.

What's stopping him from coming back and completing it?

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Neither do I, but I have the good sense not to opine on Alexander’s decision, which was probably made because his knees were shot, and he couldn’t play anymore,

I don’t know, money and tutoring? You think it’s easier to pass classes for these guys with an army of academic support staff helping them or on their own as a student paying their own way?

He didn't even get drafted and no NFL team has signed him bad knees or good knees. His pro prospects cant get any worse.

So what does one do with a degree in interdisciplinary studies that requires a degree in interdisciplinary studies?

Is a degree in interdisciplinary studies much more prestigious from LSU than it would be from a community college?

Do we know he would have finished his degree in interdisciplinary studies anyway?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Ed could not pass a NFL physical in all likelihood

Some of these guys that leave early are real head scratchers.
