The last time LSU lost by double digits to an in-state opponent was a 13-3 loss to Tulane in 2001.

As we all remember, this was Coach Bertman's last season.

That was 1 year after a national championship. Takeaway: we are basically defending national champions.

Tulane also went to the College World Series that year.
They were also a nation seed and beat LSU 2-1 in the Super Regional.

That Super was hyped and fun as shite. We won in extras in game 1 (or in the 9th) if memory serves right. Then got slaughtered in the following two games.

Another mid-week loss to another inferior in-state team. But, we're all told to STFU up by the Pawl Tools, because it doesn't matter, we're going to steam roll our way through the SEC Tournament and the NCAA's.

What a load of shite.

Correct, we had a 13 inning win in game 1 and did get beat down pretty good in games 2 and 3. Fun fact, (freshman) Lane Mestepey threw 153 pitches in game 1 of that super regional. Can you imagine the heads that would spin today if a coach allowed a pitcher to throw that much in one game? Tulane had two pitchers throw over 100 pitches as well.

LSU lost to SU, fricking SU, and of course it was a mid-week game so it meant nothing

CPM was one-hundred percent to blame for the SU loss, no way around it.
