Ha he wont be undrafted. Im very confident that he will be taken in the 5th round at the earliest, but he will still be drafted. Weed isnt a major issue in the NFL. Jerome Simpson for the Vikings got caught getting 2.5 lbs of marijuana delivered to his Kentucky home when he was playing for the Bengals. Had all that marijuana, scales, etc. Suspended 4 games.
TM def has his issues, but a lot of NFL players do.
If your a GM and its the 5th or 6th round and you need a DB and you see TM still available, would you take him?? I know I would.
And for him to be successful in the NFL, hes going to have to go to a good system for him. Doubt he will be a CB, but hes very similar to Earl Thomas for SEA. Hes a Bob Sanders/ Troy Polamalu position. Not saying hes going to be great like those guys, but thats the position he needs to play.

Probably so. He will have to work hard and show he's changed. If he can pass drug tests he will be an absolute steal as a free agent or late round pick.

Good luck to the Honey Badger. He was a great one. I hope he gets drafted and I hope he has a very successful professional career. He is a highly entertaining and talented athlete.

FWIW He is the only player I have seen to almost single handily beat West Monroe in high school. It was pretty dam impressive. The kid is a flat out playmaker and at his worst, he will be a very good special team player for years.

Not a chance in hell he doesn't get drafted. You old people need to realize its almost 2013. You can't get addicted to weed. I'm gonna say 3rd or 4th round and the Patriots will not let that kind of talent be on the board after the 6th round, just because of weed.

You didn't really hit me double time there.
Pacman Jones played football in college and got drafted out of college. He didn't get drafted after having sat out for a full season. I understand that players can sit out for a full season and come back, however there is a hell of a difference between an established NFL football player sitting out for one year and a college player getting thrown off of his team and then not playing again and entering the draft almost a year and a half later. I think you are also missing the fact that I just don't think hes the greatest cover corner in the world. Pacman Jones IMO was a much better cover corner than Tyrann Mathieu.
I'm not arguing he won't get drafted. I just simply don't think he will get drafted anywhere above the 5 round.

Not really. 2 years ago we had Claiborne and PP7 and last year we have Claiborne again. Pretty easy to miss two top ten draft picks.
Not trying to deny his ball hawking skills or ability to make plays when the football is in his hands.
Taking all of that out of the equation he isn't the greatest cover corner. I didn't say he sucks. I'm not bashing him. Personal opinion, his cover skills were ok, but not great. I think Jalen Mills' cover skills are already as good as his and by the time Mills leaves LSU he will be light years better than Mathieu in terms of cover skills.

There WILL be a team to take a chance on him. This young man has talent. I say possible late 2nd round on.

Ok a draft pick is an investment for an NFL team no? A kid that hasn't played football in a year and a half is a lot more risky to a team to use a draft pick on than for a team to sign a free agent that has already proven himself at the NFL level.
I don't even understand how you could argue that.
Again, try and understand, I am not trying to argue and say he won't get drafted. IMO, I repeat, IN MY OPINION, I don't think he will get drafted in higher than the 5th round because of the risk associated with spending a higher draft pick on him. It is one thing to spend a 5th or 6th round pick on him, its a completely different thing to nab him in the 2nd or 3rd round.

i don't see the difference. Every player in an investment as long as you are making money.
Draft pick or not.
Besides, you made it sound like he couldn't do it physically. That's what I wanted to know the differences in.
Sitting out a year isn't a big deal as long as he is working on his game. You don't just all of a sudden forget how to play.
