I don't think weed is his biggest issue in the draft - it's the fact that he has not played football in nearly a year and, according to the last pics I saw, looked out of shape.

Long layoff + cheesy poofs = free agent

Jenkins wasn't kicked off of his team and as far as I know he was never arrested.

Jenkins was kicked off the UF team for being arrested TWICE for weed. but apparently he had his act together enough at UNA to at least make it thru the season there as you mentioned.

He's also 20 lbs heavier than TM7, and he actually played football the year prior to his draft.

and a better cover corner.

He also got an invite to the combine and ran a good 40...we don't know if TM7 will even get an invite.

I'd be shocked if Tyrann doesn't get an invite, barring any further legal issues.

I was just coming back to correct my previous post. Apparently he was also officially dismissed from UF by Boom. So pretty much the same situation.

So I guess the main thing is his measurables. He projected high because he was so outstanding on the field, but by April it will have been almost a year and a half since he played in a real game.

Is there any requirement that you be on a roster the previous season to participate at the combine? For some reason I thought that might be the case.

Florida had a DB who transferred (weed usage) to North Alabama go in the 2nd round.

Yeah that player didn't sit out a full year and also didn't get arrested again for the same exact shite that got him suspended in the first place.

Kiper and McShay just said round 3-4. Just guesses from casual talks with NFL personnel guys.

They also mentioned Jenkins and the fact that his issues cost him a full round drop. So maybe I'm wrong.

ETA: got beat to the punch.

Best of luck to one of our two Heisman Trophy candidates and a key contributor to the 2010 and esp 2011 teams, and one of the most instinctively gifted players I have ever seen.

Hope he gets his life straight and does well for himself.

Sitting out 1 year won't have any effect on his draft status. It might have helped to play another year and put on a good show for the scouts, but sitting out this season won't be a knock against him.

Peyton Manning sat out all of last year.
Jeremy Hill sat out all of last year.

I hope Denver does take him... NOT so he can smoke week but so he can learn from Jacob Hester how to be an upstanding former Tiger.
