Hate go see a good kid like that leave the program but this is the best decision for him. Wish him nothing but the best.

As a Lafayette native, I’m hoping for ULL so I can watch him play

I think he a has a great Outlook in life.

Needs to find a coach and offensive system that can access all of his potential.

In the old days, he would have stayed, competed and learned his craft, gotten some experience in the best division in college football and maybe transferred later in his career But now, he’s gone before he even learns where the bathrooms are. Best of luck.

Very unfortunate. I doubt he ends up at ULL. He would fit best in the Big12 where he can sling it around and really showcase his arm.

I noticed a fair amount of snide remarks about him from LSU supporters on this board. It was almost like some people were cheering for him to fail. It was really bizarre.

I was pulling for him, because he is a Louisiana kid from Ponchatoula. I wish it could have worked out.

I didn’t like his attitude on the sidelines when he wasn't starting. He was never around the Qb’s and trying to learn and get better. Good luck somewhere else.

Started 4 high profile SEC games. Wish we could keep him. Only 1 QB gets to play and he doesn’t want to wait.

He was universally celebrated after his first win. Some of you have very selective memories.

I know a ref who worked several of his games while he was at Ponchatoula. To sum it up he had all the arm ability in the world but wouldn't take off and run so he would make some bad decisions at times. He wasn't a dual threat guy but he would do a lot sliding in HS instead of taking on smaller defenders. I hoped he would come around in college but the decision making hadn't come around yet.

Not at all. Franks had wheels.
Finley has a much better aem. If he goes to a team with a good OL, he can, IMO, develop into a good QB

And he underperformed big time and showed no improvement in the spring.

I think it’s in his best interest to transfer.

But I’m
Not sure I’d say he underperformed. He okayed like a true freshman thrown to the wolves before he was ready. And it was magnified by the crazy Covid affect year.

Not going to crap on him because some other guys were better. Not TJs fault Max outperformed expectations

Yes, after that first win yeah, but that's been a while ago. They're right, the kid has been unfairly criticized ever since, I mean I've read stupid things on here about him and would just Smh. When he got benched and Johnson took over you had people saying he wasn't being a good teammate, he was pouting on the sidelines (I mean really, that's just overkill on that BS). Lol And it's just continued into the offseason the unnecessary banter about this kid, and you can't say that some of it isn't about his race.
