But wait!
I thought the reason we hired Ensminger was because he was a "play calling genius"...

That's damn sure what they've been selling. But I ain't buying that shite until I see nice victories over Georgia and Sabama. Those are the defenses that I need to see success against. Hell, them 2 scored 30-something on each other, and Clemson has done that as well. Cutting-edge offense!!

They’ll never be. Their minds are to simple to comprehend that the offense is drastically different even if you look at the box score and see that we ran it 40+ times.

Wait, so if we pass more, even if unsuccessful, you'll stop calling it old school?

“ are you ever going to be satisfied”

As I recall, we 8th in the SEC in total offense and 9th in the SEC in total defense.

Seems like we are are misfiring somewhere and I can understand the frustration.

Stop splitting hairs. You know damn well what Georgia, Sabama, and Clemson are doing on offense is the way to go, and that is exactly his point, and you know it is.

Its not even this, its the type of pass plays we run that boggle the mind.

unbelievable that we can't get a new young coordinator who knows how to run a passing offense.

His name is Kendall Briles and Joe Alleva said no to hiring him...

Yeah you've never been in politics but I'm sure you've criticized a politician or two in your day about the job they're doing.

GTFO with this mindset. We don't have to have done the job to comment on someone's relative skill at theirs.

Amen to that! Those old bastards share that mindset. My motherinlaw is the same way.

Great? Lol no. Flashes of greatness and decent overall? Sure, I could see that. It's better, but still not what it could be and just mind blowingly dumb at times.

Not splitting hairs at all. I am just tired of lazy fans here. They really don't know anything about running an offense. If the offense is unsuccessful, then it's outdated. Hell, some of them even make up drive sequences that never happened. frick, I quoted his exact words

I’m an old bastard alum, and I’ve been screaming for a modernized, more multi-dimensional, more aggressive offense for years. Stop painting with such a broad brush.

And their lack of developing a QB. It's in the culture there, they simply do not know how. Since Miles first day up until now they have not developed a QB they brought in as a freshman. I would like to see the whole thing blown up and a whole new staff brought in from top to bottom.

The playcalling is terrible. The interception Burrows threw to end the game was terrible play calling. They rarely go down the middle and have no answer for blitzes.

How can you say it doesn't matter? Regardless if it ever is good enough or not, there was never any scenario regardless of who Orgeron hired to be the OC where LSU would field a dynamic and potent offense. I said that the entire offseason and was ridiculed for it, but a large portion of this fan base would rather live in lala land than be realistic. Improvement and change take time, it doesn't matter who or what we're talking about. Football or just everyday life, we don't live in a simulated world where improvement and change take place overnight, it takes time. Sadly, that same portion of this fan base I mentioned earlier have no sense of time.

It's also laughable for you to sit here and say Georgia has a cutting edge offense, and telling someone to "stop splitting hairs what they're doing is the way to go." How often have you watched Georgia? Do you not know what you're watching or are you spilling false filth? Georgia runs a very similar offense to what we run. They're a run heavy (by your own standard, run heavy is "old school" and not revolutionary or "cutting edge") pro style offense. Last season they ran it 69% of the time and this season they're still running it 63% of the time. We run it 60% of the time, for comparison. They also run a lot of similar spread concepts in the passing game like we do, even down to not throwing it to their TE's that much. Theirs nothing cutting edge about it, the difference is they have better players and execute better as a result. This comes back to time and change.

What is this obsession with running a “passing offense”? I’d rather keep what we have right now that go to a pass only, high scoring, zero defense program like they have out West. Those games come down to who gets the ball last. Boring.

Much rather see a defensive slugfest.
