Tired of LSU baseball being penalized for successful HS recruiting

I know it’s the way it has been and will be.
But man it sucks when we recruit studs out of HS and we lose so many to the draft.
They need to move the draft before the portal man. It’s too late and you lose guys and then you’re stuck scrambling. Or you’ve got guys in the portal and they go to the draft or you expect someone to be back and they go.
Just all sucks. The timing of the college calendar is just terrible across all sports.

LSU has actually done pretty well in getting top players to campus in Jay’s tenure.

There are players that have gotten to LSUs campus that we got pretty lucky with so hard to complain.
Serna, Bide, Kade Anderson, William Schmidt, Dylan Crews, Curiel, Braun.
Sure we will continue to miss but I’m not concerned with the HS recruiting. We’ve gotten some studs.

I doubt MLB is gonna move the timing of the draft to better accommodate college baseball. That isn't nor should it be their priority.

Downvoted before I read it. Ridiculous. LSU chooses to recruit those guys.
Maybe we should prioritize determination, baseball IQ and work ethic above talent.

You have to recruit those guys. You never know when a kid may change his mind, or slip in the draft.

It has been this way WAYYY before NIL and transfer portal. Thats just the way HS baseball recruiting works. Its not just LSU that deals with it. And JJ has navigated this much better than most.

It’s been like this for 35 years for LSU, as you described. Too bad MLB gives zero fricks about college baseball, or entertaining any changes that don’t clearly benefit MLB’s bottom line.
