I am attending a conference in New Orleans from September 27-29 and I’ve always wanted to attend a game at Tiger Stadium. Thinking about coming down on Thursday evening or Friday morning and heading to Baton Rouge for the A&M game, spending the night and heading to the conference Sunday morning. Any tips or suggestions you guys are willing to share?

Any local campus must sees?
Always heard awesome things about the tailgating scene. Any particular place to check out before the game?
Realize hotels are limited (checked today) but is it that difficult with traffic to stay a little further away from campus?
Particular seats or sections to buy/not buy? Seat with a seat back would be best for my wife
Do tickets for bigger SEC games tend to go down closer to game time or should I secure best seats I can now?

I’m sure I’ll have other questions but that’s it for now.

If anyone is planning a trip to Columbus or Pittsburgh, I’d be happy to repay the favor.

- Mike's cage, the Chimes rooftop, the parade grounds, the Indian Mounds

- you'll want to stay close-ish. Contraflow after the game will take you hours to get back to the hotel. Look at AirBNB's or Lauberge casino

LSU is a high capacity seating stadium, comfort isn't the best. If your wife has a back issue, id recommend buying your tickets now. Price may go down but selection will go down also.

Lower bowl with seat back - preferably West side because it could be a day game and East gets more sun and can be miserable. 9/26 can be surprisingly miserably hot.

I'd buy tickets now.

Indigo, Watermark, or Capital Hilton downtown if available and there's a privately run shuttle service outside the Indigo on game days. Or stay further away at L'Auberge and plan parking accordingly. Post game traffic sucks - bad.

The A&M game is gonna be a tough ticket since in all honestly it's likely to be a top 10 matchup. I'd start looking for tickets as soon as you can tbh

Lower bowl sidelines have bleacher backs, not great. Tiger Terrace (500 level) has chairbacks, as do the east and west upper rows 1 through 9.

Here is a resource to see your view from the seats you are interested in. It'll give you an idea of the seats available. The Tiger Terrace seats are great seats, IMO. But they are kind of expensive.

It's a crapshoot until very close to game time. This one will be in very high demand if the Tigers are winning, which I suspect they will be. I tended to buy early before I had season tickets if I was taking my wife and kids. If it was just some guys going somewhere to go hang out if we couldn't get tickets, I might have wait to look around campus.

Enjoy the game and the game day atmosphere, but other than that, many visitors stay in New Orleans and commute. I run in to them occasional at restaurants and bars around town and get positive feedback. That is my advice

Definitely do not wear maroon if you’re visiting for the A&M game.

Those guys are getting a warm welcome after last year’s game for sure.

This isn’t being mentioned enough. Their Tiger stadium “takeover” and all the chatter since then about Death Valley being a joke and them owning it. Oh yeah it’ll be ugly.
