Hide your pitchers, hide your hitters, and hide your studs because the Portal King has begun evaluating.

The portal might not be open, but we are.

Absolutely. Jay is gonna be hitting the recruiting hard early while the other coaches are playing in the postseason. He was on the opposite end of that spectrum last year.

I like Yeskie, but man did he fail at development this year. Returning our starting rotation necessitates development, especially when Jay realizes prioritizing 50/50 portal guys over the current roster isn’t the answer.

Tough call to make for Jay, do you keep Yeskie who utterly failed at development this year, or go get someone like Jason Kelly from A&M who you know what you’re going to get.

So losing to get early start on portal is 4D Chess?

He looks and sounds as if he is motivated like never before to turn this roster around. He is going to be a menace this offseason.

Didn’t we have Jason Kelly a few years ago?

Yeah, and he’s done a fine job at A&M this year doing more with less. Yeskie is boom or bust, someone like Kelly will get the most out of what you got, just may not turn a few pitchers into Elite prospects like Yeskie has shown.

Need to develop some young players. The portal can be great but JJ found out this year what happens when you swing and miss.

I love when pitchers struggle, it's on Yeskie, but when they succeed, it's because they were just uber talented. Dude has been a pitching coach for a lot of years, at big programs. Should he be held accountable to an extent, yes, but a lot goes on the pitchers also.

I, unlike most here, didn't believe we had the pitching this year to compete. I unfortunately was correct. We need two studs for Friday and Saturday. Maybe Schmidt can be a Saturday guy, but I'd prefer for LSU to go get a Friday and Saturday studs through the portal and let Schmidt be our Sunday guy.

It takes two studs (Fri & Sat. starters) to win Omaha.

Well I hate to break it to you but odds are the rotation will start exactly the same next year as this year. Casan and Schimdt have the stuff to be legit SEC starters. They just have to grow up mentally. You saw what a positive mindset Casan Evans has the potential of last night.

Moore is likely coming back next year as well and he fits the Sunday starter role
