Time to call out the leaker from GC Friday (long)

Its about time someone said it. I hope those members of the Gridiron Club who leaked the so-called scoop Friday are discovered and run out of town on a rail.
GC members can't comment but as I haven't been a member for several years, I can. What happened Friday was complete garbage and a violation of club rules. The rules about GC are similar to Fight Club: THe first rule is you don't talk about Fight Club. The second rule is, you don't talk about Fight Club.
That means no posting of anything that happens online nor leaking details to the media or radio talk shows. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the club.
Gridiron is a good group of guys. Anyone can join who is willing to pay a few hundred dollars a year. The goal is to support LSU football. The money goes directly to Coach Miles and not to pay TAF six figure salaries or go through the sticky fingers that exist in the offices of TAF. The coach can spend it as he sees fit. The dues even count towards your TAF points as well.
The benefit is you get to enjoy a private luncheon on Fridays before home games with the coach. NO MEDIA is allowed. Period. The coach takes questions and its alot of fun. You get to go to a few practices a year although those are usually scrimmages. It does a lot of good for LSU football. There are fat cats in it and there are alot of regular joes too, working stiffs who do ok but want to support LSU and have fun while doing it. Posting anything online or leaking what is said to media is grounds for immediate expulsion.
What took place last Friday was bullshite and goes against everything the club stands for. The problem is, you can't kick anyone out because the year is up. There is also the problem of not knowing exactly who "leaked" the so-called information. That so-called leak did a lot of damage. It wound up on ESPN. The Tiger Rag ran with it and didn't care how much harm it did to LSU. What took place over the last few days was a complete fiasco and that "leak" played a good-sized part in creating more controversy for LSU football- the very opposite of what GC stands for.
Right now, Gridiron is going to be damn lucky if the Coach allows things to continue and give it the same access to the program. Miles will probably not do anything as that is just the type of guy he is. However, there are other coaches who would've pulled the plug and we can all guess who they are.
I wouldn't blame the leadership if it cancelled the first luncheon next season in order to teach a lesson to the members. Just like the military, can't punish one, you punish everyone unless someone confesses.
Whoever the punks are who went running to the media, I hope your day in the sun was worth it. This was not about finding out the truth, this was not about journalism, no, this was all about YOU and LOOK AT ME, I KNOW SOMETHING............ I AM A SOMEBODY!!! You know the type, every disaster that happens, they get on Facebook and say PRAYERS for _____.
I hope you are fricking happy for what you created last week. Why don't you show some balls and come forward, at least to the leadership? No, that would require character, something you didn't display last week.
As I said earlier, I wouldn't blame the club leadership if it cancelled the first luncheon next season just to teach a lesson. The idiots who ran their mouths off really jeopardized something that is a good thing for LSU but unfortunately, will probably not pay a price for doing so.
I hope they go to hell.

The leak that really mattered was the one to Rabalais...who ran with it unchecked and verified.

I think it was spawn666

I think Miles should have been fired and should still be fired right now..... But your post is full of truth.... A bunch of arse hats are the ones that leaked anyone regarding this situation.

This was as eloquent of a rant as I've seen on here, nicely done.

Was probably so certain that LSU had a new coach in tow that he felt it didn't matter if he said anything or not.

I think anyone who leaks anything to the media without willing to identify themselves is the lowest of the low, unless their life is in danger.
ETA: It makes it too easy for the media to make up sensationalized bullshite crediting a "reliable source."

I wanted him gone and still do but not like this. Smacks of what Lowder did to TT with Petrino.

:applausegif:
The leak to Rabalais was basically "Miles is coaching for his job" which at that point didn't need a lot of confirmation to know to be true.

first thing you need to ask about all the leaks
who benefited ?
who benefited ?

Which is how you can narrow it down. It was Alexander (not bloody likely), Alleva (my guess), one of Alleva's senior deputies or a BoS who had given credible information in the past.
Otherwise, Rabalais doesn't stick his neck out. And everyone piggybacked off Rabalais' story because of those assumptions.
And Alleva didn't refute it until after the game.
(And it won't cost $15 million to fire that motherfricker, either... Just sayin'...)

I know it's just a joke to you
But that club has been supporting LSU football for 20 years and through 3 coaches.
Every Friday before a home game, the LSU head coach comes and speaks at a luncheon for the club -- pretty cool.
Everything the coach says in that luncheon is supposed to stay in that room. The coach has that promise from the leaders of the club. That trust has been broken.

I'm a member, but wasn't at the meeting Friday. But remember how this was leaked, it's not like someone posted what they heard on tiger droppings. It was the media that took the comment and ran with it. Perhaps some piss bag in the club was being paid by the media for scoop.

I know nothing of the gridiron club, but you are taking this WAY too seriously.
Really?
You know how this crap happens. It's like a game of telephone. Somebody probably talked to a friend who mentioned something to a guy who posted it somewhere and it blew up.
Or someone in the media has "sources" in the meeting that doesn't care what the "rules" are. If you are going to allow "average Joes" in the meeting, it can't be considered overly confidential.
Loose lips...
