Would love to see Dillon blazing on some punt returns. Can his hands be that much worse than Giles?

Or any other options for that role?

Dillon has bad hands and that alone is reason not to do it

Giles hasn’t looked shaky catching punts.

The play you posted he flat out traps the ball with his arms and body. No hands were used to make that catch.

I know. Just hate seeing that speed go to waste.

O teased that others were getting work at punt return and kick off before last game. And of course we saw nothing change.

Dillon is electric but has had problems catching the ball. Maybe Jefferson?

Ball security is the most important thing.

I don't know what you are watching but he caught the ball around head high, with his hands, and brought it in and tucked it anticipating a big hit. Once he realized he was in the clear he puts the ball in one arm and is gone. That's a kid that learned his lesson from last year when he fumbled on a similar play deep in LSU territory. Derrick is a smart kid who is trying not to mess up and lose playing time. I'm not advocating for him to return punts, because I think he isn't the guy, but I do wish he was on kick off return.

What about another receiver, Chase?

It was actually a good catch...in a sense. Looked like the ball would be deflected by the defender, which can sometimes throw a receiver off because the ball is suddenly on him and it's hard to focus.

The ball actually hits him square in the facemask, knocking his head back. He does a pretty good job of still gathering it in.

I mean, Tre White dropped punts before but overall performed admirably. I don’t see why they shouldn’t try Kary Vincent. The track star on the team.

we wasted donte jackson's speed for 3 years... the one time he had the chance he pretty much cost us the florida game in 2016

1 TO through 4 games and we are 4-0.

Sure, let’s start changing everything up.

Are you joking? Giles has looked better than any recent punt returners for us. There is no drama - it looks like he could catch 1,000 in a row without a muff.

Plus I love that he is determined to prevent a bad punt from rolling an additional 25-30 yards. Maintaining field position appears to be really important to him.

Dillon is from my home town basically and I am rooting for this kid big time. I have said on here that if the kid had elite hands he would be an OBJ type WR for us. Unfortunately he has had problems with the hands, I would not want him fielding punts for that reason.

I rather have a sure handed guy who won’t mess up catching punts and give the other team great field position. But that’s just me. I trust the coaches will make the best decision. Maybe putting Dillon back there will give us a spark and make some big plays.

We don't run with 1 RB or pass to 1 receiver.. Why not see what someone else can do?

Giles has had like 5 or 6 returns and gained 20+ yards on two of them.

I know his receiving hasn't been up to par, but he hasn't been bad on returns and has shown the kind of burst needed to break one.

I would rather know 100% that the punt will be caught and not result in a TO than the 5% chance one might get taken to the house.

That's like recommending Shaq shoot the technical foul free throws.
