Journalists, like Brando, are analysts about everything but experts on nothing.

Frankly, there is poor leadership at LSU, both on the athletic side and academic side. You have to be blind to think everything has been just swell in the LSU (and state) administration the past few years.

Yeah, I listened to his whole diatribe of crap myself. To me it seemed as if he had some sort of axe to grind with LSU. Why, if you care at all about LSU, would you try and frame the environment at LSU as a poor one to attract a top flight coach?

Everyone hates Alleva, but he is the guy that saw what most of us saw--Miles declining performance and recurring errors strictly related to coaching. When coupled with keeping Cam and trotting out the product we have all witnessed he made the correct move. People should lay off him.

Furthermore, the team can now have a new leader who can at least provide a fresh approach and give the team some hope. Somehow, they can still mathematically win the SEC which is just crazy to me the way they've looked. I don't think we will, but at least we have a chance now miles is out.

Brando needs to shut up. Almost every institution has issues within their leadership.

Brando does not have a good relationship with the inner circle of the LSU Athletic Department. So there is no love lost. I take what he says with a grain of salt since I don't think he has any real inside information.

That being said, I don't think too many people will argue with him that LSU deserves some criticism in how it handled the Les Miles situation.

Well, Miles certainly did change the offense - it just didn't work well enough. We were throwing the ball quite a bit this year.

No he didn't change it. he just called more pass plays, where two guys go out for passes, just like before, and we dump it off to the FB or RB in the flat, just like before b/c there's 6 guys in coverage and only 2 guys running routes, so no one is open.
We still were predictable running the ball with our dumb arse substitutions where our backup WR's come in the game just to block, as if no one picks up on that.
The second Darrell Williams lined up as the FB at the goalline against Auburn, there was about a 95% chance we were running the FB dive, fake RB toss b/c we've been doing that for years. It's as if he thinks the defense doens't know that a RB is at the FB position. Then we line up the same way agian and run a PA pass, which everyone knew was coming, and got lucky pitching the ball to the TE for a TD, b/c no one was open, and that TE was there to block, not go out for a pass.

I agree with Penrod, Miles was clearly trying to pass more, but LSU was not very good at doing this. I expect the new OTs, WRs, and QBs all played a part in this. Since Miles is gone I'm glad Cam is as well, but I'm not sure we will see much improvement with O and Steve in the passing game.

Nothing against the new guys because they can only do tweaks to an existing framework that apparently the players are not either understanding or simply do not have the ability to accomplish.

Who cares what someone from Far East Texas has to say about LSU? As far as Im concerned the northern border of Louisiana lies somewhere around Alexandria.

South Louisiana people are so insecure. My god. It's the same fricking state, just different parts.

I heard Brando didn't apply for the play-by-play gig. But the guy he backed for it didn't get it. The word is when Blair got it, Brando melted down on the LSU Brass.

Just the whisper wire...

Brando was on Houston radio yesterday pretty much bashing LSU. Saying "why would Herman or any top coach want to go there? He's still going to get paid at Houston no matter what. Blah blah blah"

It's like he's trying to sabotage the program.

Brando hasn't had a pulse on what's going on at LSU since he was at WAFB in the 80's but he still things he does. He doesn't.
