We'll make it this year. Just treat Hoover as a play in.

Just like the football team. Win a title and go back to average the next year.

Look at 2004, 2008 and 2020.

Weird how neither baseball or football can’t somehow string together back to back successful seasons.

2005, 2006, and 2007 were all 11+ win seasons in football. So were 2010 and 2011.

In baseball, we’ve strung together plenty of back to back successful seasons.

If you’re talking about stringing together back to back national title seasons, you’re not being realistic in your expectations

Attrition of experienced upperclassmen after a championship season is not an LSU-specific phenomenon

No guarantee we'll even make it to Hoover.

I feel better after winning the last two series, but.... the road ahead is rocky.... not feeling cocky

And Skip didn't exactly have a championship pedigree that LSU has now, no portal or NIL to build his roster, and wasn't coming off of a national championship season.

I still believe in CJJ, but he needs a big offseason and can't afford to swing and miss on his transfers/recruits.

Meh, Auburn aint passing us. We're basically 5 games up as we have the tiebreaker.

Mizzou is 1 game back but we also have the tiebreaker (so 2). They play USCe, Auburn and @ Miss. State. I like our chances.

I think LSU will be fine.

But Johnson's career history does give a little reason for concern.

In his first year at Arizona he took them to the CWS championship series. The program then progressively got worse in the 3 years that followed:

38-21 (NCAA Regionals)
34-22 (No postseason)
32-24 (No postseason)

The 2020 season didn't start out great (10-5) before it was ended prematurely.

Then, in 2021 he took Arizona back to the CWS.

The resources and commitment at LSU are greater than at Arizona. So it should be easier to "rebuild" at LSU. But this season wouldn't be the first time he's dropped off significantly in the wake of a great season.

Hopefully not, but he may be one of those coaches with extreme peaks and valleys vs. a consistent plateau. The question is as a fan what would you prefer?:

Great season, followed by 1-2 disappointing seasons, followed by another great season?

OR

Very good seasons year, after year, but no championships ?

If the question is if I’d rather be Oregon State or Arkansas, give me the Beavs’ trophy case

But we are not either of these programs. We should be setting the standard for comparison, not choosing which we compare best to

You have never brought any rational talking points to any argument. It's always some whiny crybaby sky is falling bullshite.

You posted in Saints talk "is this the worst draft in saints history" when it's widely considered a top 3-5 draft of any team in the league. You have zero sports knowledge. You are stupid. You should not be taken seriously.

Hilarious when posters resort to dick sucking when their opinion is even a little bit challenged.

A bit fruity if you ask me

Thanks for proving my point

Better yet - what changes would you have made this weekend that would have resulted in a sweep.
