Was the North side Plaza deal supposed to be done with the South Upper Deck? I knew they had the plans to convert the whole road into a walking area, just didnt hear that it was being done with the expansion.

I'm sure as time goes along, they will somehow figure out a way to expand the northendzone.

I've assumed that, if nothing else, they could just extend the north sides of the east and west upper decks. If demand warranted it, obviously.

Auburn did it back in 2004, for example:

Yep it is. I once proposed a plan to blow up the state of North Carolina so that Tennessee could be coastal. You would have mountains and ocean. Paradise.

I'm pretty sure closing off north stadium drive has never gotten past the proposal phase. People saying it is being done this offseason are wrong...I think.

This pic is the welcome screen at About the West & North Stadium Plazas Project

So I'm pretty sure that's still the plan. In fact, LSU is moving towards a largely pedestrian campus throughout.

quote:

The Master Plan aggressively works towards moving all commuter parking to the periphery of the campus, and creating “green” pedestrian corridors throughout the campus to enhance the pedestrian experience.

Bike paths and facilities are being designed and constructed in an effort to enhance alternative forms of transportation around the campus.

These bicycle facilities are being linked with city wide trails to encourage access to and from the campus via bicycle.

I'm not sure they're cutting off the street this year. Those renderings aren't exactly new.

Definitely not. S. Stadium is gonna be closed for the next year and they won't close down both streets.

It is not part of the plaza/walk project under construction. The road will remain the exact same.

Ok, let's just wait and see what happens in January. Because that's when the plaza construction begins in earnest.

I think it looks more like a white sands beach.

Those renderings need more Toonces.

Oh, and traffic is going to get even worse. I wasn't sure if that was possible.

will this Plaza incude a food court or is that still being debated.
I know at one time LSU was looking into having kiosks for food,
especially with Tailgating being phased out on campus.

It looks more like they moved the campus to a Caribbean Beach.
