Keep the right side's score, time, down & distance
Dump the left side stats.
Stretch the view area all the way to the 100th logo.
I could live with that.

Excuse my ignorance, but are those seats in the last few rows under the scoreboard being sold?

Yep. Pretty much the same as before.

A lot of it belongs to the student section.

Looks awful. It should be a bottom score banner like CBS does for NFL games. Then it should be no ads in permanent spots. It looks like a single a baseball outfield wall

What a waste of money… typical LSU.

It's crazy how much people get the red arse over LSU and ads. Feel free to cut a check to the school to take those ads down.
We haven't even seen the thing in use yet. People have bitched about not have stats and all that shite on a static display for decades. The full video board will be used for the hype videos and shite like that. That's the beauty of an all LED board. They have the ability to use the full board and go back to this layout at will. Plus they upgraded those giant screens in the SEZ too. Y'all need to chill the frick out.

No kidding how about people wait until the first home game to see how it’s used before bitching about it.

I’m frankly not impressed. It doesn’t really look that big. Seems to me they were a little timid on making it taller. And of course as everyone has pointed out, it will be half covered in ads.

we sat behind shite like this at Camping World for the FSU game.
Probably shoulda stayed behind it.

having a clock and the score is the primary function of the scoreboard. Having 1/4 of the scoreboard real estate to show real time stats is not.
Agree to disagree, I guess.
To me, the primary purpose of the scoreboard is to show the information that I can’t see by simply looking at the field. Yes, the clock and score are the two most obvious parts of that. But other information - down and distance, timeouts, and yes, stats - certainly falls into the same realm.
I’m also not sure why people would expect an entire 152’x37’ screen to be covered by actual gameplay in the first place. Aspect ratios are a thing. Video shot in 16:9, with a screen height of 37’, would be about 66’ wide. That’s roughly 40% of the new 152’ screen width. Which looks like… about what they used.
In other words, making the “video” portion of the screen any wider when they’re showing normal camera feeds would require them to either zoom or stretch the footage. Maybe they try to zoom it in real time for replays, I guess we will see (I kind of doubt it). But it would make zero sense to zoom or stretch the live footage.
That said, they certainly can use the entire screen for video that is developed specifically for that format, such as pregame/scripted video content. And I expect that they will.

It’s over 30% taller than the old screen.

I promise you if LSU created a fundraising campaign with milestones that resulted in removal of ads from Tiger Stadium, The Box, and the PMAC, they would 100% meet the goals by season start.

bullshite. The loudest morons in these threads likely don’t even go to games.

They would probably sell naming rights for this to Lamar.

That has always been my complaint. The game information was too small to be read from my seats in the lower bowl in the SEZ. I will also enjoy the real time stat info.

Honestly that looks bad. If that’s truly the layout they’ll use for most of the game, why tf did they not go taller and wider?
