How, in the Lord's name, are Ohio and U.Mass. in the semifinal on the other side? I realize this comment may be viewed as ignorant, but how do schools with so little football tradition and notoriety, I should say, have bands THAT good. Or did they set up bots?

UMass's drumline is really good. Thom Hannum and Colin McNutt are on their staff.

My kids did band in H.S., my older son was second chair behind this year's GBFTL Drum Major. My other son was four years behind them, and four places down the line that year, too.

But I don't know Thom Hannum and Colin McNutt. Sorry. Expound, please.

Colin McNutt is the percussion caption head for the Boston Crusaders. He also was in charge of the Cadets drumline from around 2009-2016. His 2013 line is one of the best in DCI history.

Thom Hannum is a legend also. He oversaw the legendary 1993 Star of Indiana drumline.

I think voters are getting this bracket confused with the bracket of whose coeds get raped on football players bathroom floor.

Nonsensical On-Line Tournaments don't determine who has the best college marching band. (Only who's fan's can vote the most or who has the best Cyberdyne Terminator Bots that pile up the votes)

How about each football conference having an actual competition at the end of the season and then each winner moving on to a "finals" competition, (Like D.C.I.) with each show to be judged by certified D.C.I./Marching Band judges. (Marching, General Effect, Brass Performance, Percussion and Color Guard)

I would go to that, as would my sons.

Boston Crusaders...gotcha.
That's talent, then.

They dance walk and make loud noises. Not music and not real marching. Sorry.
