Hey The Boat, I'm with you. (Except that I think TV timeouts are detrimental to the flow of the game and often kill needed momentum.)

I would like a compromise where a needed song can be played and the young Tiger fans don't have to hear the profanity. It was funny once, now the chant is mundane.

Any way you look at it, Neck needs to be in TGBFTL's repertoire.

Yes, cause young Tiger fans do not hear any other forms of profanity in Tiger stadium. That argument is just lame. I could care less about the chant, I just love the song.

If someone's going to get offended by a chant, then they shouldn't be at a fricking football game. Think the players dont use profanity on the sidelines? Think the coaches don't? The fans sitting all around you? Football is a violent contact sport, for Christ sake. Go to a tiddly wink match if you get offended that easily. And no, I'm not a young punk, I'm just not a pussy...

The issue was the chant being loud enough to be heard on TV...

HOW can you and people like you be so stupid as to think that profanity used by an individual sporadically is the same as hundreds or people screaming it in unison?? Seriously, HOW? This is like basic logic and common sense.

And you're pure trash if you think that vulgarities has anything to do with being a pussy or not. OH LOOK I'M A TOUGH GUY, I'M NOT BOTHERED BY TRASHY BEHAVIOR!!

It is juvenile, it is trashy, it is offensive to people who think that they are better than everyone else..... but it unites (most of us), it looks cool on TV to the millions of people who are not.... or have not, been to Tiger Stadium. It is a Louisana gumbo of humanity cheering their tigers to victory. If they play it... It is because we are on the verge of WINNING and I want to win this game sooooooo bad, So GBFTL..... Put in a new reed or clear out your spit hold... cause I wanna sing some kary-okie to the Gump fans....... in unison with 100,000 people I consider my friends. If you disagree you probably have never been in a foxhole... Let freedom ring

Is Neck the only song that the students chant STTDB to? Because if that is the case they played it at the Kentucky game. Students were definitely chanting it at that game because I mentioned to my wife when they did it.

Does anyone have an issue with STTDB? If so, will you explain to me why?

1. It's lame. It reminds me of something middle school kids would do.

2. It's disrespectful. Having respect for your opponent is a major part of the game of football. It amazes me how this is lost on so many people.

3. There are families at the game. Many people bring their kids to the game, and don't want them hearing an obnoxious, bratty, vile chant.

- Also, I'm not offended by it at all. I just think it's dumb, and unfortunate, because the band does a good job with the song.

I like STTDB. It's grown on me as people have continued to 'bitch' about it.

People need to realize that they are bringing their wife and kids to a university full of horny 18-23 year olds. They need to realize how college students tend to act, and come to terms with the fact that they aren't coming into your territory. You are going into their's. Put ear plugs on your kids.

Very strange, but this is true for me, as well.

I wonder how STTDB might have evolved on its own if there hadn't been such an attempt to sensor it. I obviously have no argument with anyone who finds the language offensive. But even if you know exactly what they're saying and exactly when they're saying it, it's still barely intelligible in the stadium (from any reasonable distance away) or on TV.

STTDB might have gone away entirely through the natural selection of the student section itself. It gained its stature thanks to those who have railed against it.

Being told they won't play it at game. Some visitors from ireland were at the practice and they played it for them because they enjoyed the band at the st patty parade.

How did STTDB words even come about? That's not what is in the "original" song if I'm not mistaken.

eta: And although I don't care for the words that are chanted I don't mind Neck itself and was REALLY hoping that the band would have played it at the end of or at least after the Ole Miss win.
