Your OP was cherry picking data and really not that impressive.

The post I’m replying to is absolutely awesome and makes me fricking jacked for the season. I can’t wait to see Burrow and HIS team wreck shite this year.

Some LSU fans are just plain dumb or just trolls, sitting there with stats to back up your argument. He had one of the best seasons a LSU quarterback has had, and some people still going to say he wasn’t very good. Classic! That’s awesome stats for a quarterback who was only on campus for fall camp. If some fans can’t get excited for the upcoming year after watching how our quarterback grew all last year that’s fans you can never make happy

Holy shite. No less than 30 in every year since 2008 and no less than 40 since 2011 and LSU only has had 2. Jesus Christ we have had horrid pass production

Considering the parameters listed and only 5 QBs did it I would say it’s pretty good especially considering he came in a few months before the season, only threw 20-30 passes in his career at OSU, and the fact that LSU really hasn’t been a good passing team for a while.

What's left out of this was how he progressed throughout the season.

His stats for the first four weeks were 52-106 (49%) for 731 yards and 3 TDs.

For weeks 5-8, 68-117 (58%) for 813 yards and 3 TDs.

For weeks 9-12, 78-122 (64%) for 956 yards and 6 TDs.

His bowl game: 21-34 (62%), 394 and 4 TDs.

If you are not excited about what this QB is poised to do in 2019, you are a fricking idiot.

They're arbitrary parameters.

Stidham was only 6 yards off of also being in that group. Ehlinger threw for 400 more yards and 9 more touchdowns. Lawrence threw for 400 more yards and 14 more touchdowns, with 1 fewer interception.

Tua threw for 1000 more yards and 27 more touchdowns. But oops he had 1 more pick, he must suck.

nd the fact that LSU really hasn’t been a good passing team for a while.

Then let's stop using past LSU offenses as a barometer for success and start using contemporary offenses.

Dude, our last championship winning coach was fired because of QB issues. LSU's bar ain't that high.

Ah I forgot He was suppose to come in and put up records with: Only 3 months to learn the offense and everyone on his offense An injured offensive line Young WRs that dropped 40 passes (If you take out all of the drops, he would've had over 3000 yards and a 67% completion percentage) And an average running game. Let's not forget he also put up 400 rushing yards and 7 Touchdowns too

^^^LSUdude247 great point!

I'll add the team, on Offense did not have a returning SEC starter at any skilled position.
The season without JB more than likely would have been as previously predicted with 5 or so losses. Glad he is here. I hope the WR's turn a majority of the drops into receptions this season.

Yep good point, the offense had 3 players returning who had started before. Two Olinemen and a tight end.

It’s so nice that you turned the corner and stopped pouting about not being the one to break the news that Burrow was coming to BR and embraced the guy that saved the season last year and looks poised to bring LSU back to the promised land this season, Ree.

He will go down as an all time great in the purple and gold for sure

He wasn't a freshman. And he trained under Urban Meyer. Don't act like was somehow shortchanged in his development.

That was my first thought looking through the numbers!

That being said, there are plenty of reasons to think that Burrow can hit that mark again. We will need him to if we want to compete for the SEC.

Who is saying that?

What he lacked was experience, and in particular experience with this group of players.

Matt Flynn went 4 years without much game experience, and then won a national championship for us. And some people wanted him benched, because he only had 2500 yards and 17 TDs, while missing 2.5 games due to injuries (in favor of Perilloux )

Burrow ranked:

36th in passing yds
53nd in completed passes
63rd in TDs
4th in times sacked
70th in passer efficiency

That has absolutely nothing to do with Burrows situation

Flynn was on the team, running the same offense, throwing to his receivers for years and had game experience in three years prior.

Things to consider when you see people touting LSU's passing offense from 2018:

Half of LSU's 16 touchdown passes came against teams with defenses ranked 129, 114, 108, 112.

In five games against teams with top 30 defenses last season, LSU threw a grand total of 1 touchdown pass.

LSU went four straight SEC games without a touchdown pass.

LSU threw a total of 8 TD passes in SEC play, 3 of which came against Ole Miss. This also includes the 7 OTs against A&M.

Which ones were with a new team and new offense for 2 months?
