The fake slant, wide open fade to the endzone. That's on the QB, not the coaches

disagree...it's a slant and go.....Landry didn't go. He stopped and tried to square up to Mett to catch it....if he would've run the route through and tried to catch it over the shoulder like most other WRs do, he goes in for 6. Mett put air under it so he could catch it in stride.

Several people have seen this in 1 of two ways. Either Mett overthrew it or Landry botched the route.....watching other teams do it, I think Landry screwed the route.

The fake slant down by the end zone was not a good throw, but a terrible job by the receiver to back pedal for a pass over his head.

This is correct. Not a great throw but Landry should have made that play. I'm a former baseball guy, so just as you want your outfielder to turn and run instead of drifting to the ball, Landry should have continued his route running towards the end zone. Ball could have and should have been caught.

With all the slants and long passes to the sideline, its as if this coaching staff is just hoping for some pick 6s.

Yeah the fault for almost pick 6 was all on our JV level passing game in the 1st quarter. The DB knew what was coming.

I feel like the coaching staff puts mett in a position to fail, we run the same routes, same plays all game, eventually they will figure it out and jump a pass for an INT

Combo patterns for WR's on routes look like BREC league.

Yeah, I have said it a million times. Can't just use the first half running short routes to set something up deep later. Every coach in America knows we do that. . Mix it up a little more and we will be in good shape. Last night was better

No, it was post-corner. Landry turned either poorly or wrong (I'd have to rewatch). Either way, he got his feet all twisted up and ended up unable to get under the ball.

As for the interception, the route may have been a slant, but the pass was way off from what I saw. The ball may have just gotten away from him.

Which is why last night will not work against Bama.
