These games are incredibly important if LSU wants to earn a top 8 seed. South Carolina isn't good, but they're not some community college team. We saw what Missouri did to the Aggies over the weekend, and the Gamecocks would like nothing more than to win a series from the Tigers.

You don't take chances with the stakes this high. If your best are healthy, they pitch.

Because it’s a Thursday to Saturday series maybe?

The Rant and its plethora of baseball savants really has no choice.

Would love for Noot to pitch so well that Jay thinks he can handle Game 1 of a regional

WTF? We have two aces. You pitch them in the two most important games. And those are the first two, winners bracket, games. The only exception to this is if our seeding is so high that we draw a four seed that has no business being in the field AND they don’t have a decent ace.

Nothing. I think Schmidt is better as a starter. I don't think he's a reliever. I said Schmidt or Noot. Even if I started Schmidt, I'd have Noot warming up to start the game. I like everyone else out the pen, including Evans and Cowan. I'd say start Cowan but I'd rather him throw the last 5 than the first 5 if need be. I think Evans is best as a true closer this season. His velocity dips with each inning he pitches.

Unless Grambling or the like backdoors a tournament bid that we pick up as an opponent as the #1 overall seed, Kade is starting game 1.

No, Tulane was 19-41 is 2023. They were probably the worst team in the field of 64. And LSU still pitched Skenes. That should tell you that JJ will always pitch his ace in game 1 of a regional, regardless of the opponent.

Probably should just just keep dumb shite like this to yourself.

Did 2023 Regional not teach yall anything? Anderson is starting Thursday. Eyanson will be Friday. Evans will be SundaySaturday, barring his need earlier in the weekend. Jay is playing to win every game.

Which is exactly how it should be.

Looks the idea of leaving Anderson & Eyanson on normal rest wasn’t such a far-fetched idea after all.

Cowan may or may not start Thursday - regardless, there are a couple of you who were so quick to point out the stupidity of my post who can kiss my arse.

And Anderson/Eyanson are a lot closer in performance than Skenes/Floyd were.
