Doing the play by play on the radio?

He seems to make it more exciting to listen to IMO

I agree but he gets behind on announcing the pitch count

I’m enjoying listening to him. He will only get better but I like his enthusiasm and energy he is bringing.

I won't fault him for that, sounds like the scorekeeper at the game had a few too many at lunch before the game.

He's enthusiastic, maybe a bit raw, but he's pretty good.

His excitement is great, but things like this make it hard to follow at times:

quote:

hard hit line drive, GREAT PLAY BY DICKINSON WHO GRABBED IT OFF ONE HOP

Was it a line drive or a one hopper? Lol

He’s good enough, but I liked Hunt’s call a lot.

Overall very good. You can tell sometime he gets excited and forgets to tell people what is happening but I’ll take that in baseball.

I don’t mind him. He’s a little over the top at times, but he’s done a pretty good job.

He does a fine job at accurately describing the play by play.

If someone describes a hit baseball as being “swatted out in to right field” then I’d picture that as a lefty pulling an outside pitch to RF with little velocity…Then i see the TV replay (of said play) of a frozen rope line-drive that hits the base of the wall in RF. Those are the kind of things that make me miss the old heads on 98.1

He’s been doing this for 15 years or more.

No. He's annoying. 1989 baseball radio cliches.

I had to do BPB for the Dallas Baptist game while relying on him. He was with Bill Franques, which alone redeems it, but Jeff did mess up the count a number of times, and talked over a number of first pitches to batters like they didn't even happen. I'd say he does a pretty good job of giving a general atmosphere, but not so much with the details.

He gets a lot of criticism on here but I think he is just fine for a fill in.

He talks too much. One comment will last an entire at bat. But…we at least get to keep up with the game.

I agree the scoreboard was on the fritz today. But he got behind on the pitch count Wednesday night also. But I do enjoy his enthusiasm.
