I just watched the SNIDV video with Borne's voiceover and got to thinking-how many years do you think he has left? We're about to start a new era in broadcasting with Chris Blair-is it about time Dan steps away too?

I do like the "scoooooooooore" thing (only in football though), but I wouldn't mind another voice. Bill Franques perhaps?

Question: When did he start? I don't remember a time he wasn't the voice of TS/PMAC.

I really enjoy Borne as the voice of Tiger Stadium. I think he does a fine job with that, and I enjoy the humor he occasionally brings to the game by the way he makes calls on the field. Part of my gameday is being there early enough each Saturday to hear Dan come on the speakers and welcome everyone to Death Valley, which takes places a good 1 1/2 hours before kick off...feels like home.

That being said, LSU's SID (I'm assuming they were behind this) has ruined the Saturday Night in Death Valley video by having Borne do the voice over himself. It was SOOOOO good that NC State tried to steal it a few years ago, but now it feels like we tried to steal it from ourselves with how bad it sounds. Yes...I'm aware he wrote it, and it's awesome...but he ought not be doing the voice over as his voice just does not have the gravitas to equal the words he himself wrote.

Yes...still mad about this from yesterday...

He's been at it a while. Did Crocker was the man before him.

BTW, I plan on replacing Dan when he gives up the mic.

I will never forgive him for telling the fans to stay off the field after the field goal late in the 4th against Bama last year.

Dan used to read at my church growing up (St. Aloysius). I would be falling asleep until would hear "From the Gospel of..." in the LSU announcer's voice and I would shoot to attention.

I'm 27 and all I know is Dan Borne. Will be sad to see him go.

Not his fault. I promise you some genius from Athletics told him to say that.

It's just what this board does.

I love Dan, but he was getting ridiculous at basketball. I think they told him to tone it down just a bit..it was better toward the end of the year.

I was at St. Jean Vianney off Oneal one Sunday and doing the same thing, kind of getting drowsy... He started reading and I thought, "Man, that guy sounds like Dan Borne... it is Dan Borne!"

That made my day. Didn't know he was a Deacon.

Love some Dan Borne. One of the best things about the gameday experience, still remember him as a kid saying Kevin Faulk SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRESSSSSSSSSS!

Gives me chills just thinking about it

I don't believe in jinxes but that was BS. I don't care who told him to say it, he said it. The game was FAR from over, Tiger Stadium was celebrating an exciting moment and he just shat all over it.

I actually never thought i would hear anything different than:

"This is dan borne, on behalf of lsu and...."

I thought he would do it forever

He is all i know, like jim hawthorne.

I resist change

then he should have told them the stfu. That was one of the dumbest things a stadium announcer has ever done.

Dan Borne is as good as they come!

Had a chance to listen to him speak in public and he is an excellent speaker. Has quite a few funny stories involving LSU athletics.

Those of you that have a problem with this man need to take a moral inventory.

"And the ball.....is right where it is."

Who remembers that?
