So would you go back and say LSU won that game because of Etling's passing?
LSU scored three touchdowns. One was passing, one was on a drive where LSU mostly ran the ball, and one was a punt return for a touchdown.
You're cherrypicking and you're not sounding very smart.

I really like him. He seems to be a great leader and teammate. He doesn't panic. He's tough. He's smart. What's not to like?

You really think Danny Dtling would have done what Burrow did against Miami or coming back like he did against Auburn and that particular defense?
We will win a ton of ball games we would have never won witb etling at the helm...

Burrow through 3 games has been asked to do more than Etling ever did.
Boundary throws, throws to middle of the field, deep shots.
He isn’t bootlegging out every time with a 4yd pass to Foster Moreau, nor does he have a generational RB to hand to
He’s been on campus since June, working with a new OC & all new skill players. Everything is new. It doesn’t help him that they rotate 7 WRs all game. Hopefully that changes
But when Burrow has flashed, its clear his upside is better than what Etling brought.

Game 1 I thought Burrow showed poise and confidence at QB. He made some changes at the line of scrimmage that I was impressed by.
True.

Game 2 He was solid against an inferior opponent.
Very false.

Game 3 - Accuracy was off, the confidence was not that present
Very very false. I honestly cant imagine anyone thinking this...

I think His downfield accuracy isn’t great. But not many people have that kind of accuracy’s
While true, he's not making good choices for downfield passing. Most WR's he's thrown to have not had separation at all.

So would you go back and say LSU won that game because of Etling's passing?
Etling was 13/24---54.2%-----206 yards----1td---0int----140 rating
Burrow was 15/34----44.1%----249 yards---1td----0int----115.3 rating

Matt Mauck type and that is all we need.
Kind of a false narrative for Mauck and Flynn. Both had a very average TD/INT ratio. They were closer to gunslingers than they were game managers.
Etling, Lee, those were game managers.

He's very good at pre snap reads. This may be his strength. His second plus is his toughness. Physical and mental.
His weakness is that he seems to have trouble on throws that require him to drop the ball in to his receiver and over the defender.

Danny Etling had also thrown 430 collegiate passes before he even threw a pass at LSU.

Yeah, it's obvious Ensminger trusts Burrow, after witnessing Sat's game. You wouldn't have known it by the first 2 games, but it was clearly evident vs AU.
If I were inclined to become constructively critical of his performance, it would be in terms of his decision making with his feet. There were many occasions he forced passes into blanket coverage downfield, where an instinctual runner like Flynn could have been more productive with his feet.
In so far as the running game, I saw many read options that must have been only designed runs, b/c if handing off was his read, he needs some more work with that language. LOL
I think some of the hype surrounding his running abilities have been somewhat overblown. Not as shifty and instinctual as I had hoped, but he definitely can be trusted, IMO.
And that counts for everything in my book. The offense has less limitations.

I think he's good at that. I say the 15 yard down and out requires a big arm and hard for him

Did you forget that Etling started at Purdue?
Not apples to apples here.
If you can't see that Joe is more talented at this stage. Then you don't know what your watching.

I agree with YOU, dude.
Jeaux Burreaux looked OK, but, my standard is how Tom Brady plays the game and Burreaux has a long way to go.
I'm also undecided about Ceauxch Eaux. My standard for head coaches is Bill Belicheck, and, Eaux has a long way to go.

I hope you get a boss with that kind of "standard".
