I'm not down on him but I'd have to say he/Kling have been the biggest disappoints for me so far this season. Bingham has just out-right booted 3 balls this week-end and made an ill-advised diving attempt and came up 5' short on another ball. If he doesn't heat up at the plate, I'd just as soon have Kling in CF until he figures it out at the plate and let Neal have a game a weekend in OF for Bingham. Bingham has a bubblegum card, as they say, so maybe he'll about to turn it around. We sure need him to!

Bingham got on base 3 times today from the leadoff spot, including a 2 run homer.

Bingham hit a HR and was on base 3x today.

They have been playing him in LF, as much CF as he has played in his career, it’s hard to go back & forth. Will allow him some grace in that regard.

It also looks like the sun sets behind home plate too. I know it seemed like Milam lost a pick off from Hellmers in the sun. I think Bingham lost the diving ball in the sun too

So a 2-run homerun is cold at the plate?

Yeah I know. Again, he's done it before so I am holding out hope. He has looked atrocious in CF though

Bingham reminds me of Jobert. Too good to take out of the lineup but has some really bad WTF moments in the outfield.

Need his bat in the lineup but he is a defensive liability

Ok so my question was about how people have seen his performance overall this year and whether they think he's meet the expectations you had for him. Today notwithstanding, I've been disappointed. Trust me...I hope he's flipping the switch soon. Maybe today started a nice run for him.

Yeah i think that's a fair analogy. I don't see Bingham being quite as "all-or-nothing" as Jobert offensively. I guess from a ALL Pac-10 dude with a .360 avg last year, I was expecting him to rake. He's still got plenty of time to leave his mark and it would be great if he becomes a high OBP guy that also hits for a little power.

What has Brown shown to warrant AB's over Bingham?

LF? Yes
CF? No

As bad as Kling is hitting lately, he’s makes plays in CF. I’d still fine with him working his way out of the slump 9th in the lineup

I think he looks like Bregman and his batting stance and approach to the ball is similar.

I have faith in Coach J to get line up right.
The way we went Right Left etc with pitchers was masterful

He also had a great bunt with but was a great play by that pitcher otherwise it would have been 4 times.

Bunting twice in the 9th inning when you need important insurance runs is just plain dumb. Although I assume Bingham made the call himself. But a bad look when you hit the ball halfway up the bleachers earlier in the game

Jay likes offense. Will play a defensive liability to get a good bat.
