I agree. It was not that bad. It was good advertising for Saturday's 2:30 game on CBS.

There’s no way that was going to be a hit piece. The networks are already struggling because they’re limited in what they can produce right now. CBS needs the revenue from SEC football.

You are just so obsessed with college football that you believe it’s far more important than it really is. No matter where you fall politically, or what you believe about the media (in specificity or generally)...
CBS is affiliated by contract with the SEC and both are making boat loads of cast in normal years. One gets used to such, and when you loose it you want it back.
Don't forget CBS also owns 247sports. If it was going to be an all-out hit piece (there are numerous iterations of such) there would have been lead-ins there.
