Did you watch the games after Ole Miss?
At all?
At all?

It’s also very, very hard to keep other teams from scoring when our offense is in the field for a total of 99 seconds a possession
At least someone gets it.

We also played some of the best offenses in the nation.

Aranda was great. He did make us wonder a lot this season but he delivered in a big way and was a big part of why we steamrolled through the post season.
Gotta love the rant. As recently as last year, people were so worried about losing Aranda that they couldn't wait to fire O and hire Aranda as HC. Next thing you know, people are repeating third and Aranda as if it was a real thing. Completely schizophrenic.
Dave was great. We owe him a lot and we're going to miss him. Probably the most unappreciated aspect is how much better he made our offense by challenging them every practice.
Between closing out this recruiting class, holding next year's class together, and replacing key coaches, O has his hands full at this point. Dude doesn't get 1 day off, much less a week. If he manages to keep this train rolling next year, he should get even more credit than winning the NC.

Let's be honest we were just average.
Average? Holding our last four opponents to their lowest totals of the year? That was a great defense. They had a tendency to relax when it didn’t matter, but when it did? They made gold records!

How about when we finally got healthy at the end of the season?

He was good down the stretch when it mattered. It could be health or him adapting to his team later in the season.

Some of these very knowledgeable fans apparently didn't watch any LSU games after Ole Miss.

Stats are for losers. The D was a monster when it mattered down the stretch.
Truth is this.

defensive stats when you are elite on offense are irrelevant
also, the D was championship level the last 4-5 games..
that's hard to do..

Per Cody Worsham on Twitter>>>
Context matters when looking at stats.
LSU's passing D ranked 59th in passing yards allowed per game this season.
But...
They faced 521 attempts this season, tops nationally.
LSU's passing D rankings that matter:
- 2nd in completion%
- 5th in INTs
- 7th in passer rating
