Someone is orchestrating hits against us. The second article released yesterday, which didn't really say anything new, was strictly to try and inflict as much damage as possible before signing day. There is NO WAY that was just a coincidence. This doesn't feel like a journalist out to make a name for themselves.

Somebody is out to get us... I hope it's not an insider with an axe to grind.

When you dont take rape and assault seriously you don't get the chance to choose when articles are released.

No shite.

Same reason basketball articles with no new information keep coming out around the time we are about to pick up a commitment, or right after a big g sec win.

This isn't like basketball at all. I'm frustrated by these comparisons. There was legitimate new information in the piece yesterday.

Look I think of LSU did a cover up, everyone should be fired immediately. That said, it’s funny how when the basketball recruit was about to commit, all the crap about Wade came out. Now, the day before signing day, this comes out. Coincidence, I think not

There was new information in the piece. And heads really need to roll after these revelations. Allowing sexual assault to go unpunished is unconscionable. Real reform is needed in that department.

That said, Gannett does have an axe to grind with LSU and has long had one. Some LSU profs, particularly in the J-school, are highly critical of LSU athletics (again, rightly so here), but I wonder how much interaction there is between Gannett and them.

Well no shite... I said a month ago this was all about making as much pain for LSU as could be for sticking Will Wade up the media/NCAA arse. They will do all they can to make LSU regret standing by him.

It has the same MO as the media politcial machine. "I told you what you saw therefore you must believe it and obey!"

Admittedly, I don't know all the details of all the rape allegations, but where are the police reports? And if they have the reports, why wasn't someone arrested?

Not sure which, if any, were reported to city PD, but campus police are not releasing some reports, not even to the victims who filed them. This was in the original story, I think, unless I read that somewhere else. I'll track it down if you give me a little while - maybe tomorrow if not tonight.

Edited to add
Okay, I found it here. I was mistaken; it's from The Advocate, not the original USA Today story.

This pertains to Guice, specifically, and I do not know if the same has happened in other instances.

quote:

This week, Brennan will face the next chapter in her fight against LSU. She’s set to testify Monday afternoon in a court hearing over LSU’s refusal to release full, unredacted police reports that she filed after her encounter with Guice. After Brennan and USA Today, which broke her story this week, filed a public records lawsuit against the university, LSU released some police reports this week.

But the reports do not include Guice’s name, and LSU has continued to redact names of suspects, witnesses and victims in police reports that it has released to the public. Brennan called the reports that LSU did release to her — short on details, names blacked out — “a slap in the face.”

“I just want to show proof to everyone who doesn’t have proof,” Brennan told The Advocate.

Hope this helps.

Agreed. Little things like this have been happening for years. USA Today has been one of the main drivers.

Legitimate rape story??

You know "I was drunk and invited him to my apartment" isn't the same thing as "Please rape me," right?

Thanks for providing the info. It appears that in the Guice case, which is the most glaring example people are referring to, the incident was reported to police. Idk what Title 9 protocol is, but If I am the parent, the first thing I want to know is if the police were called.

So police were called, report(s) were filed. If feels like the appropriate things were done here.

why wasn't Guice arrested? If we are implying that the campus police are covering things up then the university, not just sports, is in some serious shite. Maybe we are saying that the campus police are just incompetent?

It’s Nick Saban sending his people after us in football and John Calipari sending his people after us in basketball. The big dogs are out to get us

And neither is two college kids getting completely trashed and then waking up in the morning to realize they made some regrettable decisions the same as "he raped me".

Am I saying thats what happened...no. Idk what happened, but a police report was filed and nobody was arrested.
