If you had to wager your life savings on Saban coming to LSU in any capacity or not at the age of 74 right now.....be truthful and tell me if you bet for it or against it.....

Saban’s a man’s man - has very little tolerance for discomfort. His colleagues won’t dare f with him if they think it could piss him off. He’ll look each one in the eye and let em know not to f with him.

Oh wow this is so tough because im not a gambler at all. I do get your point loud and clear though. Being at an elderly age I’d go with your logic and vote against. But again, im damn glad im not a gambler because people are wired so differently. At 49 and three quarters Im a lazy kind of guy. Saban on the other hand at 74 could work circles around me. Elephino what he’s thinking these days.

I’ve heard some folks don’t do well in retirement. Others ive heard love retirement. Saban strikes me as too antsy for retirement. Then again he does have gameday and various interviews. But are those enough for him? I do not know.

Saban ain't gonna be coach, would be nice but that ain't happening, my guess is that call has already been made

Watch who your President becomes. If Alabama provost James Dalton is selected over Rousee, you may have your answer who that mystery last person is on the HC search committee.

Its your next AD. I am starting to see why Saban told Kiffen to stay at Ole Miss.

I think it is very possible that Saban could be your next AD. There are a few other odd thigs Saban said yesterday on the Pat McAfee show yesterday also.

That’s correct .

As someone mentioned a few posts above, we are all wired differently .. it’s important to know yourself.. i know for a fact that i am one of the folks who will thrive in retirement , when (and if) that day ever comes.. ive been fortunate to work hard and do well, but i dont define myself by what i do for a living , and work is not my whole identity .. i think, by and large, those are the people who retire and feel ‘useless’ or without purpose.. ya gotta have hobbies and travel and other stuff outside of w*rk .

Which stuff: coach or AD Or both

Okay so here is the rare event where I have a little bit of knowledge.

It’s an amalgam of the 2. Right the ship, hand over the keys. Guide with a steady hand.

SPECULATION: he has some unfinished business to attend and being hated in a place he and his wife loved doesn’t sit well.

It’s got legs. It’s not far fetched. It may not happen, but it’s not lunacy either.

I have no idea how he feels now, but maybe he misses coaching?

Could Saban be taking the HC position and grooming his replacement for 2-3 years and work as the assistant AD and take over as the AD position waiting for him?

I don't think he has the temperament for AD. That position involves dealing with lots of very different people in a positive and diplomatic manner.
