UNC: 2008 CWS
2009 NCAA Basketball tournament
W: 2010 Chick-fil-a kickoff game
2013 CWS

UCLA: 2006 Final Four
2010 Eliminated in Los Angelos Regional

They improved in the post season 3 straight years and you jokers want him fired? You can't win them all.

Were you around when the old box had about 50 people and they yelled at the "referee"? LSU fans are rabid, I'll give them that but most are not nearly as baseball smart as you make it sound. The one thing they do better than most is tailgate and make noise.

This year's team did what one scout had told me midseason, very good team that will get to Omaha but won't win it. You can't rely on long balls in a decent sized park with the bats and balls they use today; in my opinion it makes it baseball again.

can't blame it on the pitching of opponents because LSU faced the best before

Alabama's Spencer Turnbull, Arkansas' Ryne Stanek (twice), Mississippi State's Kendall Graveman and Texas A&M's Daniel Mengden were the starting pitchers in the LSU defeats.

The Tigers had a .204 batting average against those five pitchers.

Yeah, home runs just ruin the game.

So you wrote all that just so you could take a jab at the coaching staff?

Idiot.

This isn't true sometimes....this board has told me that Plutko and Thornton were bum rag arms and the only reason LSU lost was because of the bats and the big park.

Sadly, I can't say the same for our coaches.

I don't recall you complaining about the coaches when we won the SEC tournament, or the BR regional or when we defeated the 3rd draft pick and first pitcher selected in the draft in the super regional or when we won the super regional by scoring 11 runs or when we were named the #4 national seed in the CWS.

Where were you then, Mr. Bandwagoner?

Our coaching staff is solid.
There is a weak link on the staff.

Mainieri needs to swallow his pride and personal feelings for the betterment of the program. He did that with Grewe. He went out and hired a great piching coach in Alan Dunn. Immediate results. Now he needs to do that exact same thing in the hitting department. We need somebody that can teach the finer nuances of hitting and that coach is not curently on the staff. We've got a "Baseball Tepper" situation going on here and it's keeping the program from reaching full potential.

Coaching didn't cause LSU to kick the ball around in the first game or not get the hit when needed in the second game.

Lack of player execution played a much bigger role in LSU being back at home than coaching did.

The guys who had made the plays all year, didn't make them either Sunday or Tuesday.

End of story.

All this coaches BS needs to stop. The BASEBALL GODS were not on our side, that is all. Our coaching staff is solid.

Exactly. It wasn't like we weren't hitting the ball AT ALLLLLL. We hit many balls to the warning track of Rosenblatt, and we had many hard hits (including Rhymes, Jones, Ibarra, etc.) that unfortunately found their way into opposing gloves rather than empty field.
And most of these were, again unfortunately, with men on base.
The two errors didn't help either (although Bregman's was a difficult play.)

Also, if the ump calls Glenn's pitch on the corner a strike, (which he did before and after), that's the third out and it's 0-0 at the end of 1 instead of 2-0.....

Even after all that, we only gave up 6 runs.

LSU finished the season #2 in batting average in the SEC at .308. Only Vandy had a higher batting average at .314.

Vandy and LSU were the only two SEC teams which averaged over .300 for the season.

This season was the third straight season LSU's team batting average increased.
