At Duke, Alleva hired three football coaches in his 11 years: Carl Franks, Ted Roof, and David Cutcliffe. Franks' record in his five years was 7–45, including two 0–11 seasons. Roof went 6–45. Cutcliffe wasn't his first choice to replace Roof but got the nod over Karl Dorrell.

His first baseball coach hired was Bill Hillier who compiled a 121–214 record.

In the beginning of the Duke lacrosse case, on April 5, 2006, Joe Alleva forced Duke lacrosse coach Mike Pressler to resign under threat. All the charges were dropped in 2007 after it was discovered that the supposed victim lied about the rape allegations. 2 years later, he is the AD at LSU.

Tell me what about this guy's resume makes him qualified to run the Athletic Department at LSU?
What is it going to take to get this clown out of town before he ruins all sports at LSU? The LSU brand and image has already been tarnished because of his decisions regarding coaching hires.

Everything wrong with the football program right now has his fingerprints on it. He has to be one of the worst AD's in the entire country. I know he makes a lot of money for the athletic department but if he fricks up football much worse that shite will change as well.

Absolutely nothing. The shitshow seems to be a trend with him. Why can't LSU have a tight lipped administration that competently gets the job done without a leak every other day? See Georgia.

They make James Comey look like a rookie at leaking information to the media.

Word is that Briles is the man but the "administration" is not on board. So, yeah, Alleva's fingerprints are all over this.

You let off the Duke Lacrosse dumpster fire that was his crowning achievement there, who hired this piece of shite? Anyone involved should be fired immediately

But he's the die hard O fans (not LSU fans) hero. Ask anyone of them and they will tell you that Alleva should not be replaced.

Lot of truth to that statement unfortunately.

This is like the Bengals having a retirement parade for Marvin Lewis and then signing him to a 2 year extension. So much lulz

I guess y'all don't get it. It's about money. If he's pulling in tons of money for LSU sports, he isn't going anywhere. There are no ifs about it. It is what it is.

Unfortunately, money talks. If he's bringing in money, the chances of him being shown the door are slim.

Edit: See post above. Same topic at the same time.

That was my point, if he continues to frick up football then the money he's bringing in will take a large hit. Football is the bell cow and if he fricks that up to the point that people don't care anymore then he's toast. He's getting damn close.
